Can the 44 Sedan clear the bridges on the Erie Canal? I think there may be a bridge with approximately 15’ clearance

Going to be very close I’m preparing that I might have to particularly remove the arch I’m not worried till I get around Clyde NY and Macedon there’s a couple of low bridges

Correct. On the west end there is a bridge with 15’ clearance. However, one can take the Oneida Canal to Lake Ontario and then the Welland Canal to Lake Erie. The trip thru the Welland Canal requires a Captain and two crew (BUT THE OWNER CANNOT BE ON BOARD) per Canadian rules due to Covid.

I mentioned this in another post...I am 12.5’ to top of open array Raymarine radar... anchor light and Vhf antenna are the only things higher

Steve, thank you for that alternate route. Do you happen to know the bridge height on the route through the Oneida canal?

Good luck trying to find a captain that can take it through the welland with all this covid bs going on every month they extend the border closing and you need three people to bring a boat up through the welland don’t forget I’ll take the arch down if needed

Gary, On another forum someone replied that they took a 58' sedan bridge on that route and only needed to lower antennas.
