Hello everyone,
Looking for advice on what best options to consider, what pitfalls to be wary about, what engine options are best in a 2006 or newer 44 Sedan Bridge. I was looking hard at some 420 Sedan Bridges before I stumbled into the potential engine/valve issues that may be prevalent. Would appreciate also discussion of handling characteristics in open water, what amount of seas has stretched the comfort level, etc. We are transitioning from an older Hatteras 40' double cabin....slow and methodical, but a bit rolly in open chop.
Thanks in advance,
ps. we are Long Island Sound based...have one to offer??

The 44s will come with the QSC 500s. They are bullet proof! Loved the boat!

All I have ever seen came with a bow thruster. Only needed when trying to dock in the wind. She is like a big sail boat when the wind is howling.

That's appreciated... I just read one thread where a guy wanted the Diamond series as he didn't want the extra electronics and sensors. Non issue?

I have owned two with SmartCraft and that means the sensors. Never had an issue. It is common for a sensor to go bad and put the boat in guardian mode. The sensors enable you to monitor a lot of things. Again, in 7-8 years of dealing with them, I-never had an issue. Have the 6CTAs now and they are fully mechanical engines. I like them just as well. 06+ are going to be SmartCraft equipped with the sensors. We had an 07 44DB and loved everything about it. I would not shy away from one with the sensors.
