I have a contact there so give me a few hours but... Hiring a surveyor is the best thing you could possibly do. I don't think I have heard very many conversations about hiring a surveyor and it being a bad idea.

As a broker myself, I will give a list of 3 or 4 surveyors we recommend. The decision is yours. You should basically interview a surveyor, ask for references.

The captain I am using for my delivery is in SO Cal. He says he knows a great mechanic but he is not a surveyor.
