While getting a bottom paint job on my 1986 340 Sedan Bridge at the local marine center, i noticed the starboard shaft strut was badly beaten by electrolysis. I can't even read the part number but the prop shaft size is 1 1/4". Any ideas where i can get one?

Yes that strut needs to be replaced, and you need to look into re-doing all the bonding terminations in the bilge (look for the copper bars with the screws in them; remove the screws and file the bottom side of the terminal ring and the copper bar; spray them with corrosion inhibitor and screw it back together).

To replace the strut, Flounder Pounder is your best first bet.
After that, you could check with Sea Ray as long shot.
After that, you could have a new one made using your current one to make a new mold. That's what I did. The guys at Morel Industries (a foundry in Arlington WA) at 360-691-9722 were fantastic and had a replacement strut for me in two weeks. Morel makes struts for other boat brands and knows what is needed. https://www.morelindustries.com/

My apologies for not replying sooner and thank you for your detailed answer. I’m going call FP first and then Morel Industries.

No worries, just let us know how it goes. I was just looking at the invoice for their work this weekend, and knowing it was done right was worth it.

I read the web site you posted. What a great success story. The fact that they will do a one strut order is remarkable given they are an important player in the industry. I really admire companies that value customer service. Getting harder to find. Great advice.

Just saw that someone was parting out that era 340. I think it was on Facebook, classic sea Ray site. I’ll look for it and respond if I find it.

do you know the length and diameter. I have a new one for a 2000 310, i also have a strut

I’m looking for somebody who is parting out a Sundancer 340. I currently have 2006 Sundancer 340 Sportsman package and I’m looking to convert it to the standard U-shaped bench. I am also looking for parts for a 2012 Sundancer 370 missing the rudders and lots of electrical parts
