During the survey on my 340 it was determined there was delamination and as I am not comfortable undertaking a repair like this I am looking for a recommendation on a shop to perform the job. I have quote from my dealer however I am looking for a second opinion. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I see a guy at our marina that does really good work. I stopped and got a card from him one day in case I ever needed FG work done. I'll post his info tonight when I get home from work.

While I haven't personnaly used their services, I'm told that Osprey Marine Composites is very good. They're located at Herrington Harbor North in Deale and know they have done a great deal of insurance work on hulls.

I have used Jeff Abell of Abel Custom Marine on South River for two fiberglass repairs. One was a to repair chunk of colored gelcoat I took out with a nail that was sticking out from a dock piling just below the rubrail. The other was for a structural separation in the top corner of my radar arch. The later required grinding down to the glass mat, laying in some fiberglass to rejoin the two halves of the arch, and then gel coating the arch repair section over again. Both repairs came out well. The colored hull is always difficult to match, but they did a good job. The white radar arch, and several small spider cracked areas I had them repair while working the arch, came out perfectly. I also have to add that Jeff did the job for 1/3 the cost of the two other estimates I got. (One estimate based on in-person inspection, and the second based on photos only). The diagnosis and repair plan were the same for all three.

Jeff is http://abellcustommarine.com Jeff looked at the boat Saturday afternoon. I left tied to their pier on Sunday of the next weekend and dropped the keys, then picked the boat up Thursday afternoon.

The other place that came highly recommended from several inquiries was Osprey Marine Composites at Herrington Harbor North in Deale MD. www.ospreycomposites.com/ My challenge with them was getting the boat down for them to inspect during the week. He did offer to have someone look at the boat if/when they had someone in the local area for other work.

Is this on the front deck? Is it just delamination or delamination because it is wet? Assuming front deck, I have been told $20k - $30k to do the job properly. The entire interior needs to come out of the cabin to do the job from the bottom. I would be very cautious if anyone wanted to do it from the top. Prince William Marina does this type of work, but it may be a bit far for you.

Edit - Just noticed this was an 01 - some of what I said above may not apply.

Clarks Landing Shady Side has someone. That job was done on mine before purchase.

Wow.....OK. From underneath will cost you an arm and a leg. BUT..... If it is done from the top it is much cheaper and the final product is a custom one off that IMO is nicer than the original. I've seen a 36 Monk Trawler and the final product was a beautiful job. I cannot recall if it was a combo DIY/Pro job or all pro.

My 97 330 has been found to have delamination along the front deck. The surveyor stated "from hard use". I am beyond disbelief. I have had this boat since 09 and have not done anything that would be considered hard use. Pulled and wrapped each season. Now all of sudden delam? Original survey mentioned nothing about this. No moisture. Nothing. Trying to sell the boat and last buyer pulled out after this inspection.
My broker now says that they cannot sell the boat. I am looking for alternative solutions. Insurance declaration of non seaworthy and total loss? I don't want to spend any more money to repair. Should I get a 2nd survey to counter this one? If 2nd survey finds nothing wrong with this area can I take this to broker? If 2nd survey finds same- try to get it rated as unseaworthy? I am open for thoughts before I begin any process on this.
