Anyone know a good mechanic that can service our 8.1 inboards as needed periodically?
Need someone who does road service. Getting very hard to find anyone and there is usually several weeks backlog. Ideally someone who does it on the side.

Thx

I have used the folks at Mears Point with very good success.

Not sure if they do road service or not, but you are very close. I am sure they could arrange a place that you could "park" the boat while it was being serviced.

One thing I've learned of late is that there is a serious shortage of marine mechanics. Searay dealers are closing up shop and if you can get them to visit your boat, they are charging serious road fees. As a result, We are moving our boat across the bay next year just to be near where mechanics are available. I recommend to anyone looking to choose a marina that it have ample service staff. In fact, before you buy, make sure of this, otherwise don't waste your time. Searays break down and when they do quick repairs are the difference between a fun season or a wash. Waiting 6-8 weeks for repairs on the eastern shore of Chesapeake bay where we are now is not acceptable.

Shore Power Marine is a solid mobile marine service company. Stosh is a great mechanic.

Circling back on this thread-my friend has a 2017 240 Sundeck, 6.2/BIII on a lift in St. Michaels. Needs annual services, winterization, and shrink wrap on the lift for the Sundeck, plus annual services on a 2017 70 Yamaha OB (boat is on a trailer)-and annual services and winterization of a Yamaha Jet Ski.

Thks-
