Looking for a good shop tach

I am looking for a good shop tachometer to troubleshoot and verify current tachs. Engines are in sync, but tack reads high and one reads low (up to 500-1000 rpm diff). All I can find online is cheap junk. Looking for one I can actually attach to verify rpm while underway. Any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

So picked one up and confirmed what I thought. Stbd tach is running about 300-500 higher than it should be. It's a newer replacement and set properly. Port is pretty close -- about 50-100 off. Probably time to replace both with a matching set.
