Hey guys, I am in the market to upgrade my 14' fiberglass john boat with something a little bigger for fishing and to have fun with skis and tubes. I recently found a 1988 SR Seville 16' with the 100hp outboard motor w/upgraded stainless prop. The current owner is a friend of my Dads (co-worker) who bought the boat brand new. He said he used it every summer for 10 years and put it in his garage back in 98 - hasn't touched it since. He ran the fuel out before storing it. The boat has been sitting for 10-12 years in his garage with boat cover on it. He ordered a water pump for it and plans to install it before trying to start it back up for the first time since 98. He said if everything fires up and the boat runs good he is going to sell it for $4,000. If the boat has any issues he is going to take it to his local marine shop and let them look at it/fix it - then sell it for the 4g plus some to help with the repairs. I have seen plenty of runabout's in the $3500-$4500 range, but was wondering what you all thought about this deal? The boat comes with the cover, bow cover and bahami (sp) top with windows (what he said). He also used to fish with the boat and installed a trolling motor with foot control on the front bow. He did say that the motor was excellent on gas and ran top notch when before he stored it away. Does this 100hp motors have enough power to pull a skier with 3-4 people in the boat? Any advice or input would be appreciated, as I hope to be a SR owner soon. I will link some pictures that he sent me, they are a little blurry tho.

Looks to be in nice shape, but he might have a hard time getting 4k in this economy.
I think it's priced high.

I just bought the exact boat for $2500... mine is in good condition for the age. This one appears to be mint. I think $4000 is a fair price if nothing is needed to get it on the water. Its a good size boat for only being 16ft and very easy to tow. Good Luck!!!
