Looing for the Barnegat gang from SRO

If gas stays cheap I plan on spending a lot more time at Tices next season.

Forget Tices. If gas is cheap I'm going to Atlantic City for a hamburger and fries. Though I might split the cost with a friend and go on his boat. He can do the trip in under an hour. Heck, if we go outside we can do the round trip in just over an hour. Pray for cheap gas!

Best regards,
Frank

Just Ducky requires closer to three hours to get to AC, not 30 or 40 minutes. But that would work too. Leave at 9. Lunch at noon. Back at 5. Clean up and hit the Lobster Shanty's dock about 7. Nighttime run back to the marina at 10. Sounds like a good day.

Either way, Pray for cheap gas!

We should all pray for cheap gas, because while I think we have a shot at if for 2009 I dont think it is going to be a long term trend......

Frank,
Waht's the rush on getting back so fast? You don't spend the night or two there, shows, restaurants? Sounds like you're trying to turn a family cruiser to a cigarette boat :wow:.

Unlike, I'm thinking that AC is the spot that offers best entertainment in the region. So, ones I'm there I'd like to spend more time there. Also, as I'm slowly transitioned to larger cruiser I've learned to enjoy the cruise vs. lets just get there faster.

I think that eventually we should make AC an alternative destination for those who don't make it to BIH, just a thought.

Start the thread.....sounds like a great idea!!!!

I get there 3-4 times a season....It's not always the primary destination, but we generaly use it as a stop on the way to or from other southern destinations. Oh,and I DO go to AC for lunch once a year...well sort of...I stop for a few hours and watch the air show....

I'd go.

Been to AC a few times by boat. Really, there isn't much there to hold hold my interest because I don't gamble. If I'm going to stay over, might as well push on to Cape May, it's only another 30 gallons. Cape May is much more interesting and there are a lot more excellent restaurants.

Best regards,
Frank

Frank,

I hear you. I'm not a big gambler either, but we like the shows and restaurants in AC. Unfortunatelly, we're not too spoiled when it comes to big variety of entertainment accessed by water in our area (at leat I don't know too many spots), so AC takes my vote for now. I'd love to hear more regarding Cape May and other spots you'd like to offer.

I've herd that Wilwood Crest is very nice and fun for kids. So, it'll be on the radar for the summer of 2009.

Frank:

How long has it been since you were in AC? The restaruants at the casinos, especially the Borgata, are first class. There is the new 'Walk' with all the outlets for the admiral's to shop at, the boardwalk for some afternoon entertainment people watching, Harrahs just built a new world class indoor pool and and I think they are finishing up the indoor mall, with a dink, you can ride the harbor and tootle around, there are numerous shows at the casinos....and then there's the Jitney....for foe-dolla you and the admiral get the craziest little bus ride around.....

I go to Cape May/ Wildwood also.....My dock to Farley's is ~49 sMiles.....my dock to Schooner Island in Wildwood is 92sMiles....that's more than 30 extra gallons......even at 1sMPG, that an additional 86 gallons.....

But....either way....I'm in.

Probably 2000, 2001. The boardwalk was the high-light as far as dining was concerned on those trips. I'll take your word for it, but it's going to be tough to convince my wife. She has a long memory for lousy dinners.

I guess it just seemed like only another hour further south. Oh well.

All I need is a Fridays or something and I'm good. I may even have a gift card laying around...

Icky! I'd rather a PB&J. But my wife is fussy. And if I'm going to spend the effort to go out, it might as well be good.
