Good old Jewfish Key, and Beer Can Island. When we go, we usually get into the shallow cove on the West side of Jewfish to get out of the current, albeit in the direct path of thumpy music, depending on who's there that day. Stayed on the island many times in the house on the North East side (top of pic 3 or 4). It was built by Lars Bergstrom (invented the Windex among tons of other stuff) and John Roberts, the owner. We used to dock a 4' draft Hunter at the end of the Land's End dock (the L shaped one in your pics right by the bridge). Lots of afternoons there in the 70's after work surveying and laying out what is now Long Boat Key Club Harborside Moorings. '73 was one of the worst Red Tides ever.
Great aerials.

AWESOME!!!!

We were there Memorial Day weekend, and someone landed a plane in the water then idled up to a group of boats on jewfish key and hung out for an hour or so, then headed back out. Pretty surreal. Great pics.

Love Jewfish and Beer Can. We were there 4th of July week and the water didn’t look like that.

It's the tannin from the mangroves, and summer rains. The entire length of Sarasota bay was clear visibility to 10' deep all spring after the Red Tide finally subsided. Not Bahamas clear, but Keys clear.
