Has anyone put speakers in the back of their Sea Ray 260. I'm thinking the locations circled but I can't see what's behind there.

The port side is definitely free.

You're there at the boat and can see this better than us (I don't recall from memory)... are there any pump-out/gas/water deck plates on the outside of the hull? You'd then have hoses to contend with.

You can disassemble that stbd cubby (or the walls of the undersink storage) pretty easily... and you can look UP from the bilge, as well. Luckily, that model has a very work-friendly and spacious bilge.

You're not kidding!! There is so much room I'm moving up from a 2001 Bayliner 2352. That bilge is tight!

I tried to look up from the bottom and it's got wood panels in the way, they're removable I just didn't have any tools with me when I went to the marina. There are fill plates in the starboard side just below the arch.

You should be fine on both sides. The starboard placement may be determined by the curvature. The storage under the cockpit sink is boxed in with some carpeted walls. When I had my 260DA I removed them. I never really understood why they needed to be carpeted in there and when removed you also gained access to some unfinished additional space.

The port side is fine and you can just drop wires down and then you can fish them through the engine compartment - just make sure they do not standoff from the bulkhead to far as to interfere with the folding seat. As a bonus having a speaker there will allow for easy access to the top bolt on the center hump if you ever need to remove it to have it reupholstered.

Thanks! Good thinking on the seat. I have the base pad out to be upholstered now.

I saw the starboard side had a little curve to it. I was thinking I might get a spacer ring and sand it down to match the curve if needed.

If you add it up here it may also push some sound back when you're rafting and you may be less inclined to kick it when using the starboard side step to get off.

That's a good point. Easier to run the wires to under the sink too. Thanks for that idea
