Back home now finally. Here are some shots of the Vol Navy in action Saturday before the game. First one is Mrs. ZZ13, John (LoneRanger - facing camera) and some pals on John's 270 Sundancer.

Looks like a blast. Its probably just my jealousy showing up, but what with the newbie-style cleating on that line?

    Creek wood,

These boats never sat in dock for more then 10 mins... the deck hands got tired of fighting lines towards the end of the day so this was easy on and easy off.

That slip was set up for a different boat. They just used it for the 510 for the day. The 510 was on the long lay along dock for the dealers Monday thru Thursday but they needed the dock space for the 330DA and the 370 Venture.

That time it sat for just about 2 minutes for 8 or 10 to desembark and put the same on for the last run of the day. I'm waiting on the dock to get on. This was the most popular ride all day, one load off the other ready and waiting to board. Some vessels may be available for 10-15 minutes between runs but not this one...

The 510 is the only one we did not ride on.......but we rode all the others and had a blast. We took a ride in the 270SLX because the Driver looked lonely....we had a blast with him and the 8.2L running wide open!!!

THANK YOU SEA RAY. There is no doubt this company's customers are put first. This weekend was unbelievable. If a boat owner was unable to attend, look foward to next year and plan now. To all the company officers that said go ahead and do it, you made Mr. Ray's words live "...a sincere appreciation of our customers." To the employees that worked throughout the day making sure we as owners wanted for nothing, THANK YOU. I noticed as I spoke with each one and asked how long they had been with Sea Ray the least amount of time was 16 years and most answered 28 to 30 years. That is unheard of with todays business models. This Homecoming event makes me more proud to say I have a Sea Ray as if that were possible. Thank you Rusty for your devotion to your company, and there by to us the owners. Chris thanks for indulging my ideas about the 510, just goes to show you never know who you are talking to. Again THANKS to all involved.

If this takes off annually my wife and I will just have to coincide a holiday in the good old US of A with what is clearly an awesome event.
Well done Sea Ray for putting it on.

You had to come to the Vols game on saturday to see the fireworks. Only there were not enough of them. If there had been three more fireworks Saturday night it would have been a much better outcome.

We had a great time. Glad you guys made it by. I wish I had meet more people on Friday but look forward to next year. Glad you took the pictures before the West Virginia Moonshine made an appearance.

BTW we all saw the 510 come down to the Vol Navy at the municipal docks and stay for several hours but it left well before game time.

    Oh I forgot this story.

After the game, Ron, Angie and some other friends came back to the boat. Everyone sobering up or drowning their sorrows, when a guy tied up at the end of the dock comes by and asks to borrow a light. I first thought he wanted to light a cigarette but he needed navigation and anchor lights. His anchor light is in such a position that if you open the engine hatch with the anchor light up you bend the pole. He opened the hatch, bent the pole in two, and pulled the connectors out enough that they shorted and he blew a fuse.

He had no idea about the boat. Ron took a flashlight from my boat and found his fuse panel and he had blown a 25 amp blade fuse. Fortunately I had a replacement on board. We got his navigation lights back for him. Then we removed the socket for the stern light and striped the wires and wired it directly to the stern light and was able to secure it enough to allow him to safely get back home. When we removed the socket it was at least the second socket as there were two sets of holes drilled. Also it was held on with coarse dry wall screws. Sadly, I was not surprised.

This is one reason in a long list why I never leave a ball game to go home at night and usually not even during the day. I wait until the yahoos have gone and leave the next day.

Ya'll can keep the 510...I will gladly take a 470.... A little ride with soem fellow CSR'ers  High speed turn at 38 Knots, burning 36 gal/hr, and maintained 26 Knots through the turn. FYI, if a captain says, " hang on".....DO it! I was thrown from my sea the first time....Hope I don't get anyone in trouble for posting this!
