So with all of the work going on with the north jetty of Barnegat Inlet, it looks like using that inlet this summer will be difficult at best. I know it's single file, no passing and no wake all the way through. When that inlet gets a little rough, trying to get through it at idle speed could be dicey.

Anyway, I am thinking at I will be using Little Egg most of the time and perhaps Manasquan if I decide to head out to points north. I have only been through Little Egg inlet a few times and all of them have been on other people's boats. I know that it can be a bit tricky on the bay side if the inlet due to the fact that there are not a lot of markers and they are far apart. I know there is a lot of shoaling in the area as well.

Does anyone have any documented way points, or any advice on what to look for or how to safely traverse the inlet? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

the inlet is well marked but the bay heading north is a little tricky. Don't mix up any bouys or you will be aground. Its best to enter at low tide because you can see the shallow areas
