Jim, can you clarify what you are asking? "e vin"? "i dears"? Maybe some punctuation? I'd like to help, but I honestly don't know what you are saying?

sorry im not good at talking and explaining things (even and ideas)

The switch breaks the circuit if working correctly in the off position so I would guess switch is bad.

the switch lights up when turned on when i flick it up and turns of when down can it still be the switch?

- Are you referring to the Navigation Lights switch? Does it turn the the Nav lights on?
- Is this boat new to you? Has it always done this?
- Do the lights come on and off with the key switch?

I'm thinking that maybe a prior owner re-wired things so that the lights come on with the key - just a guess, though.

What you could do is take a look at the back of the gauges and see how things are wired up. If I remember correctly, the blue wire is the gauge lighting and should run from one gauge to the next. Follow that and see where it originates.
