Does anyone participate in a lighted Christmas Party of boats? In Baltimore it is on 12/5 Baltimore Inner Harbor to Fell’s Point. (sure hope this does not bring up the generator thing again!)

We have in the past, this year we will just be going by boat to watch the parade and fireworks in Sausilito, CA.

Yeah big parade here in palm beach this saturday eve. Even have a barge in the parade launching fireworks.

Does this mean I can strap a 2k Honda Gen on the swimstep or in the cockpit to power everything? The genny would be even safer if it was in the cabin though. I will leave the transom door open to ensure ventilation and so I can smell the exhaust to ensure it is still running. Better yet, I will make sure my enclosure is on as well.

There, did that get the genny crowd up in arms yet? Lol! Sorry, couldn't resist.....

Yes, you could use the genny, but I would suggest it be kept in the cockpit, and the canvas closed tightly, just to keep the genny out of the elements :))

We do one every year in Gig Harbor. This years parade is coming up in a couple of weeks. We usually have a small party on board. My wife does all the lighting arrangements in addition to some creative hot toddy creations. We have the heat running down below and take the rear canvas off so everyone can get a nice view from our spot in the parade line. We've been lucky as the last two years it has not rained.

Sounds like a lot of fun. I sure would like to participate in ours here in Baltimore, but alas the boat is on the hardtop for the duration. Now I will just be a sightseer and sulk!

I am REALLY jealous! Having grown up in Gig Harbor, I know how beautiful it is during Christmas Time. last year was my first time home for Xmas in 10 years and we had all that snow! Hope you have a great time this year with the parade and think of us out here in Virginia!

Will do! I'll try to post pics if I think about taking the camera. Each year people seem to get more and more creative. Last year one of the commercial fishing boats (most are smaller salmon trawlers) had an actual large movie screen mounted to the back of the boat - I believe attached to a couple of his net winch booms- playing some kind of Christmas movie.

I went to the holiday flotilla last saturday in Wrightsville Beach NC, nothing like decorated boats and fireworks.
