As I read through the posts, I see things like "winterizing", "snow", "ice" "-15F", "waiting for Spring" etc., etc,. Seems to me that you guys in the cold only get to use your boats 6,7 months of the year. So, while you are waiting for spring, I thought I'd post up some pictures of how "bad" life here in the tropics is !!! Also, you can check our weather here in Hervey Bay with the link below.

So, here is some pictures.

Your pictures bring hope of days when holes aren't required to go fishing!

2 feet's not bad, it gets to 3-4' here... We take our power augers right down to the motor, and then just break thru.

Off topic - If you are going to dig that deep into the freezer why not just purchase the fish at the store. (Grin)

Back on topic.
Chris great looking pictures.

I've never seen anyone fish thru holes in the ice, except in the movies !! Maybe I should post up some fishing pictures, and you can see how we do it here. I'm only 60nm from the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef, and the fishing (outside the National Park) is just fantastic. Maybe you guys should have a vacation down here, I know a nice 270 Weekender to use, and BTW, at the moment, the way the economy is, $US1 will get you almost $AU2. Then you could get away from that cold weather, winter here has 68F and summer 86F.
Here in Queensland, the climate is totally different to Victoria where those terrible fires were !

Oh, and thanks so much for the comments about the boat. Once I found it is the only Weekender in Australia, I restored it to new condition and try to keep it that way, like owning a '58 Corvette !!!

I would love to go back to Australia, love your country! Was there for a few wks in Sydney back in '93, loved every minute of it, went to Manly Beach, Darling Harbour, Bondi (man eaten by a shark there recently I read!) The time I was there, there was a couple - newlyweds - Diving on the Great Barrier Reef, the husband pushed his wife out of the way of a shark he saw coming at her, and got eaten, and almost the same week, a scientist on Tasmania Island, was the slowest seal...

I have just found the "Album" feature in my profile section, so I have started adding some more pictures. I love to see and hear about places where other people live, a passion I got from being a ham radio operator since 1963. (VK4OO) (hang out on 20m). But now there is the internet and I can get to see pictures too !!!

So, lets see some postings with pictures from you guys. I lived in the US while studying, loved the place, didn't want to come home !!
