Alex,
Here is some added info for the first page: The crew consists of: Sherri, Ryan (7), Justin(5), Sabrina (3), Boat name is " Sea Ya Later" ( I never got around to changing it after I bought it from Robert!). I also hail from the Great South Bay, Long Island. Thanks!!

Todd, I updated your info.

Any thoughts on the location?

Alex,
I have heard really good things from my friend about Westhampton Bath & Tennis. He puts his boat out there for the entire month of August. It's on my short list of places I want to go.
Block Island is probably a little far for me as this is our first season that we will be doing long trips and I don't know how the wife and kids will respond. Either way I'm sure it will be memorable!
Other than that I'm open to any of the others!

Although, I'm planning to visit Block Island, but I agree that it's not the best spot for everyone in the group.

I vote for MYC, lots to do for all including the kids. Nice pools and bar. Grills and a free shuttle to everywhere. Manis and pedis too.lol

Westhampton would probably be a place i would rule out, been there, done that got the T shirt (as with all the locations) being a stop on the last big trip I made I am in no hurry to get back. I enjoyed it very much but will pass on the low water experience. A few more coments, Shelter is pretty isolated and has very little to offer on the island. Sag is expensive and very limited on space, most likely filled with mega yachts mid August. The town is small but very nice and upscale. Shinnecock, i am not sure if it's an actual destination or what they have to offer but it's a bit far for not knowing. Considering the purpose and distance others are traveling i would go. Greenport, even though i visit several times a year for the past 15 or so i think it would be the best and most accommodating. Alex, when you refer to the village dock i think you are reffering to Mitchell Marina. It is town owned, strictly transient, fairly new cement floaters and very accommodating to rendezvous. I think all are great spots and of course majority rules, so let's vote!

Todd, did you get a new boat or is the 330 new to you?

Nothing for the kids in Greenport except a merry go round and some troublesome local juveniles. Don't get me wrong, I like Mitchells with the family, but we are all together, not entertaining in a large group. Again nothing for the kids.

Ho Ho -

WOW, great gathering. I heard there was a lot of activity and I needed to check it out.

A Big Congratulations out to you Alex. That 420 is a nice jump! Very very nice!!

Although I don't like being the smallest boat of the fleet :smt089, you can count me in on the fun

PMC: Paul & Michele with kids (4 & 1), "Kemo Sabe" 2005 280DA, Great South Bay

BTW - Nice job on organizing this

We still have a lot of plans up in the air for summer cruising but would love to join you if we can. With that said, we cannot do Westhampton however since the Bath and Beach club is limited to 50' loa and the village marina has a max of 55' loa. don't change group plans becuase of us, but just wanted to make sure you all knew the limitations.

Paul, good to see you back on CSR and nice to see you at the show last weekend. We'll be back on the River soon, my friend...

I agree with Russ, let's vote. Ok, I vote for MYC then Townsend Manor (they have a pool) then BI, RI

Selfishly I vote for block island (something for everyone) or second closest location to block island on your recommendation....

Thanks Alex

Russ,
No, I did not get a new boat. I bought the 330 in 2/09. First season I did not get out too much. Last year I spent time mostly @ Fire Island getting used to all the systems and handling. Now I'm ready for a couple of decent runs. I am planning on doing AC (possibly that CSR rendevous) and this trip. I may try WH Bath & Tennis on my own.

Alex,
I agree with Russ that the meeting place s/b somewhere that is accomodating to most of the attendees. We have NJ, LI, CT, & MA. That would mean probably out east, north shore? Although, I like the sound of MYC, as Brian suggested.

Dave seemed to indicate that there is nothing for the children to do in Greenport and that would be bad for me as my wife may become , well, unhappy with the situation. I am still trying to hook her on this boating thing and it has been uphill all the way. I can use all the help I can get.
Having never been to any of these Port's of call, I can only rely on the more experienced boaters here. Are there any places that offer entertainment for the whole family? Remember I am toting 3 small children on this trip but, that is obviously my concern, not necessarily any others.

BTW- Is there actually a Paul sighting on CSR?? Well, well, well, my friend, How have you been? It's about time for that off-season get together we talked about. I shall call you soon! I hope all is well with you.

And, again, thanks Alex for putting this together!

Thanks for pointing out, Todd. My fingers were faster than my brain. That's what you get when multitasking....

No, the Block is not the best place for the group, only due to the location. As far as things to do it actually be on top of the list. For now, I think we can keep it on the bottom of the list.

Hey Paul, thank you and my wife was just asking if you guys are coming. Glad to have you on the list. We'll bring extra Chamomile tea....

Ok guys, sure voting is the only way to do it. I tried looking for an option on how to change existing poll to a different one. But, looks like a new thread is required. If anyone knows the trick or if ADMINs can step in to help that would be great.

So, in the meantime let's do it manually. If I read your votes correctly we have:

Brian - MYC
John - MYC - I assumed that if Block is out, you'd vote for MYC. PLease correct me if I'm wrong.
Jeff - MYC
Todd - MYC - Todd, since you said majority rules I assumed you would be ok for MYC. PLease correct me if I'm wrong.
Dave - MYC
Alex - MYC

Let's get others to submit their voices.

A quick note for those who never been in MYC, as long as you don't mind to spend a bit extra (~$4 p/f) you'll like it lot. But, that's just my personal opinion.

Here're couple of shots I took last year:

Alex,
You were correct in your assumption regarding my choice. Although, I do have to say that after visiting their website, Block Island seems intriguing. Aside from the trip out into the open seas (Gulp) it would probably be the top choice. But, as I stated, I have not been anywhere so anyplace is cool with me and MYC looks very cool too!

Brian,
How long of a trip is MYC timewise from our area?

Todd,

Last year it took me about 5hrs from MYC to Watch Hill. This included about 20-30min waiting for locks to open, but I filled fuel not to waste too much time.

Brian will give you more accurate numbers for your precise location, but I think my estimate is something to consider.
