Anyone have this system? Comments please. Does it really work? One long time boater I know says he has system on his engines and hasn't had to change his fuel filters in five years, but will do so this year. Says his fuel has been perfect. I'm about ready to have it installed on my 2000 410 Dancer. 3116TA CATS.

My system is cheaper - in fact FREE. The only difference is that I do change my filters annually as a preventive maintenance measure, not because they are clogged or even dirty.

My system is simply to spin myself around three times during each fueling in deference to the diesel gods. It seems to appease them because I have run boats for over 40 years without a single clogged filter. I call this a "spin-on" fuel filter.

Jeff....do you "spin" to the left or to the right??? I want to make sure that I continue the ceremony.....

It helps to repeat "It's only boat dollars" Over and over again as you're fueling and doing the "spin on filter" procedure as described above.

I've been doing the "hokey-pokey"....but I'll try the "spin-on" at the next fuel stop....

Court...sorry to get carried away, but most seem to believe that magnets are "smoke and mirrors" couldn't hurt, but not really sure it helps...

Cute replies: It's "smoke and Mirrors" but "couldn't hurt". What's that mean? Never mind!

Dom, I tend to spin left but I know you prefer to spin right. I don't think the diesel cares.

That depends on whether its a Caterpillar, Man or Cummins......each one require a difference dance. If you have a Yanmar, you have to do a Kabuki dance as well!

Mmm... I think I need some explanation about this extra dance I have to do.

Peter.

No, no, no. Kabuki is a traditional form of Japanese theater. You're thinking of Odori. which came out of Kabuki, but is dance. I hope that's the right spelling, BTW. Oh well. It's a transliteration anyway.

Anyway, magnets work! Really! There are hundreds of thousand of articles about the health benefits of magnets on the Internet! Just look here! Algae aren't dumb. They know that magnets work and so are attracted to magnetic fields for their positive karma! If you can find them, get your magnets in the shape of a pyramid. More expensive, but it boosts the cosmic twaddle to infinity!

I just love this new age drivel. Can we do scientology next? Something like theta auditing of diesel to achieve tech clear would be fun! If ol' L. Ron were alive he'd be hustling D-meters for diesels.

Best regards,
Frank C

I stand humbly corrected..Of course I meant Odori....

I thought you might have been thinking of Mai, but Mai is not related to Kabuki. Mai should be elegant and high-society, so the diesel gods probably would not be impressed.

Re: LG 500 Algae X Magnet system..Check ValvTect Diesel

If you use ValvTect Marine Diesel, AlgeX or other devises are not necessary. ValvTect contains BioGuard (biocide), stabilizer, lubricity improver and detergent to keep injectors clean.

Almost more important is evry Certified ValvTect Maina's diesel and gas tanks are checked frequently for bacteria, water and other contamination.

It's great stuff. Usually doesn't cost more that regular truck grade diesel but may run only a couple cents more, but it is worth it.

Chck our the articles about ValvTect in Sea Ray living.

Yeah... so when I'm cruising up and down the east coast, I'm supposed to call around and find this particular fuel all the time?

riiiiigggghhhhtttttt......

Sounds like a paid political announcement.

Sea Ray Living is paid advertising. ...from cover to cover.

BTW,

This testing seems to show that valvtech is worse than untreated ULSD. For what it's worth. Your mileage may vary.

Best regards,
Frank C

It'll be fun to see which one of our resident experts on all things marine wise and other wise will comment and give us the real story!
