Just watching a finance show Lenovo ( used to be IBM's PC line ) is in the process of moving all it's PC, Laptop and Server manufacturing back to the USA to qualify as a product Made in USA 51% or more of the product must be manufactured here. I will be selling all my HP laptops as soon as they hit the market place. If anyone else knows of other products we may need for boating or any other consumer products please post them I know Fridgedaire is now making some of their products like refigerators in the USA and is planning on moving all of their line back. Might be a good idea to start a Made in USA Forum section I know I would use it it may save you or your neighbors job.

Not to be a downer but I have had nothing but trouble with lenovo. There customer service is repulsive. I will never own another lenovo even if I get paid to take it. I hope there quality and customer support improves dramatically!

We ARE starting to see "re-shoring" efforts though. My brother works for a Chinese-owned automotive supplier that has moved several factory operations from China to Michigan. I'd rather see U.S. ownership, but it's still an encouraging trend.

A lot of michigan jobs were lost when frigidaire closed,a lot of wifeys relatives still arent working the area is very depressed, except for farming in that area there isnt much to do for work now.Be nice if they came back and employed former workers.

What I thought everybody was back working. I mean the employment numbers keep dropping and even the fed said it was getting better. (Lol)
Just because you stop counting does not mean it is getting better.

That would only be cool if they sold the american made versions in japan.

Apple makes many of its computers in the US. Plus, they are an American company and their computers and iDevices are all engineered in the US.

If you are curious which computers are assembled in the US look at the back/bottom. Many iMacs now say "assembled in the US". The new MacPro coming out this fall will also be assembled in the US.

Keep in mind many components are not made in the US. This is true with many manufactured items, including American-made cars.

Going by what the CEO for Lenovo USA stated he really stressed that 51% of the components will be manufactured in the USA not including assmembly it Will say Made in America 51% is needed to state Made in USA these will not be just be Assembled in USA machines. I'm just stating what was reported hoping it's not another BS line by a CEO.

Here's a link on Apples plans.
