I'm considering replacing my current trailer lights with LED lights. I have the rectangular style lights. Any recommendations regarding brands, etc.?

Harbor freight, low cost lights had them on both my trailers and still working great.

I bought Harbor Freight lights and had to replace the right side just days later. Nothing to do with quality though: it was gone. The bracket on the trailer was cracked and the whole assembly had fallen off somewhere. I assume the tires must've kicked-up a rock or something. I've lost the left side in the past too - which is a real bummer because that side also holds the plate.

Low-cost LED's are definitely the way to go IMO.

+1 on Harbor freight LED lights. I had mine for eight years and never had a failure.

I did spring for Grote Tail lights as I consider them more crucial than marker lights.

if your trailer does not run ground wires to every light now is the best time to do that. I would recommend using the water resistant heat shrink connectors.

Boat trailers are the very definition of worst possible case for light systems. Not only is the environment bad, but the risk of physical damage is greater because of the exposed nature of boat lighting. For these reasons my recommendation would be to buy the least expensive led lights possible (maybe buying a couple sets to cover physical damage replacements). While I have been a big proponent of Truck-Lite and Grote over the years specifying them on the container chassis fleets I have managed, I would never waste the money using them on a boat trailer.

The other recommendation would be to extend the grounds to points on the frame that are consistently above water. Trailer wiring harnesses typically have grounds that terminate close to the light fixture. If the ground is close to the fixture and the fixture is frequently submerged, so is the ground. Bad grounds are a common reason for failure, and ground connections that are frequently submerged in water are on a fast track to failure.
