LED Cockpit Bulbs (I know, GROAN!)

Ok her I am again , I'm trying to replace the bathroom vanity bulbs in my 480SD and I've tried the G4 two pin and they are too big for the socket not letting the pins connect to the plug in the back , does anyone know the correct size bulbs for them ???

Generally, the pins are long enough to take a pair of needlenose pliers and bend them to the right sizing for your socket.

There are some cool options, like White/Red/Blue/Purple combos. Do you know if the brightness of the white is compromised, if the light has all the other colors in it?

No, the white is not compromised. I installed the LUMITEC Shadows (same technology) with the white/red/blue combo. The white is dimable but the colors are not. When at full setting, the white is very very bright.

thanks, will place an order this week, or should I wait for the winter boat show season?

Hi all,
For those of you that put the Lumitec lights in your radar arch, what size was the bezel? 2 1/2 inch or 3 1/2 inch. I believe the model # is113193.
Thanks

Gerry do they screw in place or have some kind of a clip that pops them in? I bought Asperions last season and they are just a little larger hole than the stock Perko's and the wiring comes out the side so you have to cut another hole next to the hole for the wires to slip through. So needless to say I have 4 more to change out that I haven't done yet because of having to hog out the holes.

Maybe I'll sell these and switch to the Lumitec's for the rest of the installation.

Can anyone tell me how to remove these directional lights. There are two and they are above the lounge and dining table on a 320 DA. Would like to replace bulbs with LEDs.

See the mounting instructions, looks very easy.

They are held in by spring loaded clips , just pull hard , I had to .....

A little more advise.....they're like a finger mouse trap. The little wire retainers can snap open as they come out of the hole and whack the snot out of your finger. I can guarantee it only takes once to learn to be more careful with the next one.

I ordered the last two lumitec 113111's that Amazon had at a great price of $67.00. They said they had more coming but it seems now that the last 6 I need will be at $90+ each. Bummer. Wouldn't have minded saving a few bucks.

Bart, Thanks for the warning!

Hello All,
So I replaced my arch lights with the Lumitec lights, and wow, what a difference a small alteration like that can make. I thank you all for the suggestion. I was wondering if anyone has changed the cabin lights to something similar? I am talking about the larger lights that have the two bulbs in them. Is there a Lumitec version for lights that big?

Also, how about the swivel reading lights. I see Lumitec has them also, but for about $150.00 each!!! Ouch. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the post. Which specific lights to you put in?

The lights I ordered from Amazon at a great price arrived and were incorrect. Had to send them back. I'm about to purchase 8 of the 113111's which is going to leave a bit of a mark ($$$). I'd imagine if I turned up the brightness of all eight lights it'd be pretty bright in that cockpit. Almost tempted to try their white/red/blue lights except there's no dimming on the red/blue like there is on the 113111's blue lights. I don't want to be blinded by the blue lights if I turn them on.

Hi copb8tx, I am familiar with the 113111's as I just ordered those for the cockpit. Blue and white. However, those are smaller than the lights I'm referring to in the galley/cabin area. The ones in the galley/cabin are much larger diamter. There are both actually, the 111311 sizes and then the larger ones.
