Temp wired them up to a lighter plug, and duct taped them in place.

Love the blue.
They're not as bright as the halogens, but seem to penetrate better (spot LEDs vs flood Hal's).
Not sure I trust them in the water yet.
The best look is both of them together.

Waited for sunset:

Love the color produced by both together:

John, they look great! But do they attract killer whales?? Who makes them & how much? How are you going to mount them? PS I'm jealous of the sunset (we dont really have them until boating season starts!).

John
Good pictures. The lights will handle the water with no problem the white you see in the light is all sealer to keep them water proof. When mounted underwater they really send out a good beam, although its hard to argue with how well they look on your boat.

Thanks for the pics John. I have been contemplating them for under my swim platform as well. Do you find that 2 work well, or do you wish you had more? of course, your boat is much bigger than mine.

Thanks in advance.

Yes to killer whales. Wear a bun, not a pony tail.

Douglas from this thread makes them. First run $50. Refined Product $90 each.

There are areas to mount with 2 SS screws. They are light and not very big. I'm ordering 4 more. Douglas has convinced me to put some under water. I'm always at my boat. I'll keep them brushed clean. I'm going to have a separate toggle switch for every pair in the trunk.

If I were you, I would buy 2 and mount them below the water line. If you want more, add them later - below water disperses much better. They draw almost zero amps. Put a bunch on the same wires if you want later on.

Easy install? Looks like they screw right into the hull and then you just seal around the light casing and the screws?

If that's the case, I will get 4 (blue) of them. I've been pricing them and the price is indeed right!

Doug and John, I have a 30'da, 10.5 beam, with an extended swim platform that is just under 4' from the transom. I am going to go blue. How many? Above/below waterline? On the platform out a few feet? When I put the boat in for the season after I install them I won't have a chance to change locations. The river where I keep the boat is brackish water and not the cleanest. (lights will get film on them which I can brush when I leave port) but I boat outside Boston Harbor which is much better.
Looking forward to ordering based on your input. Thanks Rob F:huh::smt100

Looks great John. Do you have any pictures of them on and from a distance?

4 on the platform staggered would be a good choice that way they will be easier to keep clean since you are in brackish water. 4 will really light up the water.
Doug
