Anyone had this issue? Or addressed it?

picture doesn’t show the issue well but it is sagging down (2” or so) between the hatch and the door. The glue is not holding anymore is what it feels like.

I have yet to see this myself but am always wondering when I will. I see yours is a 2007 and mine is 2006, I am wondering what environmental factor is making the glue fail. I guess you guys get a bit more heat and humidity than we do out here in the west. It gets good and hot but low humidity when its hot. I would imagine the only thing you can do is take it down completely separate the cover from the foam and use a good upholstery contact cement you can spray with a cheap spray gun and re-bond. Any attempt to inject adhesive will end badly I fear. Good luck with that.

The vinyl covering is already adhered to the foam when it comes from the manufacturer. The covering and foam are one piece if that makes any sense. I have 4’x8’ piece of it that a MM Service Mgr gave me years ago. Interested in how you tackle this.

Following to see how you remove those panels. I have a bit of sag near the mirror on our 42 DB but i think its due to the fasteners that hold the panel up. If you have to remove the panels i'm curious as to how they are attached to the deck above.

It looks like if you could remove the trim around the hatch you might get to the edges around the hatch and they may be loose enough to get some contact cement between the foam and fiberglass.......just a thought....

Possibly similar to my friends boat problem.

A Formula 41PC.
The foam and vinyl delaminated away from each other.
Foam backing was a mess to scrape off the ceiling once the vinyl was down. It was impossible to re-glue it...

Good luck,

I'm curious as well. Our vinyl seems to be adhered fine, however on the port side there is a section that is chased out to create a long rectangle that runs the length of the wall on the 42 DB. Similar to what is shown in your pictures. That is where i have some drooping.

Attached Detail on the Ceiling Build, apparently screws and Christmas Trees hold the center panel in place. I hope to dig into this over the winter. Pull the panels down and take them to a vinyl shop.

I can only imagine this is like a car headliner when it fails. The foam breaks down and basically breaks the bond between the vinyl and the ceiling. Trying to glue foam that has basically turned to dust is almost impossible. The best way would be taking it off and redoing with new vinyl. Another thought would be to button tuck it like a couch?? I don't know what you could drill, poke into behind there though to hold the buttons.

I have replace head liner in other boat. It was like a carpet and came in a roll. It was not SeaRay and the material was not like what is in our SeaRay
