Leaking hose, what is it?

If things are really quiet there's a good chance you (or someone else that's moving around) can hear the air escaping... or make a soft sound into the hose as you're blowing in there.

I use this on condensate lines. It is ridiculous but cheap and will definitely blow water up some place. No soft, white noise with this thing......

That's a pretty wild setup. Where did you find that, and was it designed for anything specific?
Blowing out condensate lines on mini split HVAC systems. The lines are prone to get dust in them from winter operations and then they clog when they switch to ac.

Okay, come to find out that small hose is the drain hose in the bilge is a drain hose from the ice box. With that being said, that is not where the water in the bilge is coming from. It seems the water level gets to a certain level and stops...Never had water in the bilge the last time it was in a slip 14 years ago. Like I said previously, the rear seal, bellows and shift cable seal was already done BUT does that mean they did crap work? I am at my wits end. I am very mechanical, but I can't find the source. It only takes on water when sitting not running. I have been all over the water jacket, hose etc. to no avail!!! aaarrgh!

If that drain hose is from the ice box... what is the drain hose on the other side for?

If it was the shift or driveshaft bellows, it "should" continue leaking - as would the transom plate seal. But it's worthwhile to check them out.

Is it possible you "think" it reached a certain level and stopped.. but actually didn't? Meaning, the water could be running forward and leveling out... appearing to have stopped.

This is just something you're going to have to get methodical about and monitor closely. It seems as though it's easily repeatable - so that's good. I have seen times (rare) where the leak stops after a bit.

Aside from rain - which you said isn't a possibility, right?

-- Protrusions in the hull, either transom or hull bottom. Depthfinder, trim tabs, seacocks, garboard drain, drive, etc

Pull the boat out and put it on the trailer - fill the bilge with water - you might get lucky and locate the source leaking back OUT. But it's also quite possible that the leak in only occurs with the pressure of being underwater.

Just for clarity…..no water is actually coming from the hose?

How high does the water get in the bilge?

Water leaks can be in so many places. Last year I found cracked connectors at my dockside water hookup (behind the panel). The year before that I had both a strainer leaking as well as my hot water heater (which you do not have).

Perhaps consider removing all fresh water from the boat (drain the tank), unhook it from dockside water, and see if you still get water in the bilge?

Okay after 3 weeks of painstaking observation with micro cameras, mirrors, vacuuming out the bilge and start over, come to find out it was the shift cable bellows. Thanks everyone for your input. I'll be bringing the boat back to the marina tomorrow for a test drive.
