'89 sedan bridge has a lot of water leaking into the port side sideberth? This is sudden within the last few days. It's coming down the header which is the wall between the galley and wrap around seat on top of the sideberth. The hvac in the vberth quit working last night. I had a mechanic check yesterday and we didn't find any water. The only place we didn't check was air system under the vberth. Thank you, Perplexed

First think to check is fresh or salt water, assuming you are in salt. You need to fill in more info on location etc. It will help get the right answers.

Seawater salt. Location of the leak? It's on the port side coming down the header in the side berth

Seawater in a place where nothing but the AC unit could be... and the AC unit quit working... sounds like you found the culprit :)

Now the 24 million dollar question is how do we get to it? There's no easy access any suggestions?

Well that was one of the quickest turnarounds! :)

Can you post a few pictures of the area - including some from a little further away? Different things are mounted in different ways... and sometimes you have to remove 10 things to get to one thing depending on how your particular boat was put together. I've never worked on your particular model so it's hard to say without being there. Possibly someone will chime in that had at least a similar model, though.

Chances are, the hose is zip tied along the way - BUT, check to be sure. Pull on whatever access you do have and see if it's free (also at another access point). If you're lucky, you can use the old one to pull the new one through. OR... just run a fish tape and pull a new hose and leave the old one in place.

And if you are in that deep then consider replacing all of the hoses.

The clear hose hanging down is spraying. It looks like it goes to the unit in the parlor/galley but bot units are run by one pump. The only access is where the compressor is.

That's your "direct/easy" access, but you may have to remove things to get more access (if needed).

That hose would normally not be hanging down like that... which means that maybe someone already replaced it at some point and it "may" be loose. Plus, depending on what kind of clear hose that is, it's not a good one to use.

You have extra line, cut out the bad section and use a hose splice for now. That will get you up and running. Replacing the hose should not be to bad, it will just take time to find access along the run.

It was tricky! The hose was going through a small hole in a piece of mounted wood . We got it done with a lot of tug of war. Thank you for your advice!
