After my 3 year old decided to load the vcr with everything other than a vcr tape, I needed a new tv. At first I thought it would be easy to replace the unit, but they are hard to find and I would still need to get a dtv converter. Then I looked at the 110v lcds (with the brick), but did not see any at Best Buy. So, I looked at the 12 tvs.

Even though I did not get any responses about the Skyworth brand, I decided to go with them and got a 15.6" / 12v / lcd w/dvd.

I used a typical small tv swing mount and bolted it to the upper board inside the tv cabinet. There were 1 1/2" screws holding the board on, so I used 1 1/2" lags. However, since the mount was so high, I had to reverse the mount on the back of the tv. That lowered the install to where I wanted it. The tv fit nicely on the outside of the cabinet (not too big) and can swing the tv out and use the cabinet for storage. There was a gap of about 4" on top. I cut a peice of the sliding door (which I had removed) and tacked it in place.

After the mount, it was plug and play.

The pictures are from my phone and not too good.

Nice install.
I installed a 22" LCD last weekend and will post up pictures after this weekend finishing touches.
I wired mine to the new Stereo/Radio wit a 3.5 mm jack to play through the Audio system on the boat.
What a difference!

Good thinking with the sliding door - looks really nice.

How does this mount work out while underway? I have always been concerned that the TV would be moving around or that the mount would fail under the stress.

Charlie,
Great looking install. Where is the DVD? If it is built in that one sweet setup. Now I just have to get my 2x0SS (Grin)

It worked well through moderate seas. But I did go airborn and the tv swung out. So, now I have to look at a method to secure it a little better. I was thinking of using either velcro or a snap system.

The dvd is built in. I can also get some tv stations now too.

When you get your SS, I'm sure you'll load it with great options!!

anyway you could post or send me some detailed photos?

Thanks
