Has anyone ever had to replace your tach with an LCD read out for the hour meter? I can now add hours to the meter for you. I built a machine that will add hours to a new tach so that you can replace your old broken tach and put the hours back to where they were. I can only add hours I can't and will not remove hours.

The hour meter does not engage when you hook power up to it. It has to have a specific signal that has to be fine tuned to not destroy the new tach.

Does anyone have use for this service at all? I can certify that the hours were only set to what the original tach showed. This is providing that you can send me the old tach. I will number the new tach with certification that this matched the old tach. It is a bit of process but well worth the effort when you go to sell your boat and the hour meters have been changed out and zeroed out.

Sounds interesting but, I would probably just hang on to the old tachs to show the hours and tell them to add the two since mine are the OEM analog . Probably not the best idea due to storage and the risk of misplacement but, I am not sure how "convinced" a buyer would be by a 3rd party certification that the seller paid for. Unless the original tachs have an LCD too. Then I can definitely see the need for something and that certification along with corresponding service records probably would be enough to convince a prospective buyer.
Just thinking out loud here.
