Launch process at the ramp?

Launching we have down pretty well, I put the plug in at home and check the transom a couple of times. I pull the plug at home too. Almost have it worked out to fasten the big cooler on the swim platform between the rear most cleat and the tow rope anchor. I think i can hook each side of the handles with a short bungie maybe and keep the cooler where it is out of the way for the day!

Thanks fellows.

I used this same method for a while but started to have an issue. I need to pull the plug on the ramp, I stop when retrieving with the truck on flat and boat still on the angle of the ramp. That way when I pull the plug the hull drains fully. If you pull the
plug on the flat at home, you inevitably keep stagnant water in the hull somewhere.

Just saw this two years later! I still had not figured this out on my own! Duh! Thanks, yet another boating tip learned!

Better late than never! What made you decide to check this thread?

I had not been on this board in a while, and decided to look through my post history for some of the thoughts and suggestions I've received over the years regarding winterizing, etc. Many of the best came from you, thank you and glad to see you are still on this board.

Trying to think back, I recall a couple of times when the safety really got pinched by the strap, and was a pain to remove. I'm not sure if I tried releasing the strap tension or not. The hook on the strap is pretty good size, and the bow eye gets crowded.

Am I the only one whose wife can back the trailer just as well as I can?

You may have a rare one. My wife has no interest or comfort with trailer backing. Fortunately, she has been very game to drive the boat on to the trailer, and has become quite good at it. My oldest daughter has taken a keen interest in boats and jet-skies. She is now my trailering partner, and has been working on her backing skills. They are still rough, but kudos to my kiddo for being game to learn!

Mine is just the opposite, she refuses to try to put the boat on the trailer. My daughter also is learning...I can call her at any time and if she is home, she will come over and help me launch the boat as long as she gets to drive to the launch and gets to back it in. She is getting pretty good at it also.

Get up very early. Load cooler with massive quantities of adult beverages. Load cooler with tons of food. Get Coleman camping grille and a couple of fresh propane bottles. Get lawn chairs and lawn chair umbrellas. Call Uber. Have Uber load Uber van and take you to ramp. Stake out spot. Tip Uber driver heavily... Uber driver will help set up your camp. Tip like......I'm talking Donald Trump HUUUGE, and Uber driver will actually set up camp and start Coleman grille. Get Uber driver's cell number. Watch permutations and combinations of 38 step launch method while eating and drinking heavily. Take pictures. Call Uber driver direct. Tip Uber driver Donald Trump HUUUUGE immediately. Get Uber driver to tear down camp, take you home, get you in the door and makes sure you are in one piece.

Total cost is less than three hours of cruising.

Entertainment value: Priceless.

Or you could just search "boat ramp" on YouTube and save the cash for a day of cruising
