Being a shift worker your body and mindset gets screwed up going from nights to days and days to nights so last night after the wife headed to bed I went out again for some night photography. It was a beautiful night and along my travels at one of the marinas I was stopped by the 80 year old security guard as to what I was doing, I informed him that I was a member and out taking pictures so all was great. We started talking and "Clarence" told me that his wife just passed last month and he was having some bad days dealing with her death, he had to head back to Sarnia Bay Marina so I told him I would meet him there and brought him a tea so we could sit and talk and hopefully take his mind off things. As I said earlier it was a beautiful night, we sat and talked on the patio overlooking the marina and I showed him some of the pictures that I had taken.... Hopefully last night I helped lift his spirits.....Life is short..... When he took his wife to the hospital who was not feeling well they said there was no need for her being here and he could take her home, she died in his arms that night..

Great pics like always. Plus you're a great person for taking the time to help a fellow human being through a tough time.

Kudos to you!

Mark

Your pictures are just amazing and ditto to what AMFM said. That was a special thing to do!

Love looking at your pictures. And spending time with "Clarence" was a wonderful jesture on your part. Hats off to you sir!

Nice job providing some comfort to Clarence. I'm sure he appreciated it then and will even more as time passes when it dawns on him that a total stranger took some time with him.

Oh, and nice pics!

Nice shots as always Dan! Clarence is the only security guard that walks the docks during the night (the rest seem to just sit in the command centre) and is a good ambassador for the marina. He almost quit after BayFest when some hooligans threatened to throw him into the water after he advised them that it was time to shut down the party. Shook him up pretty good, but he decided to come back anyway. Didn't know about his wife passing though... Just goes to show you - everyone has a story.

Great story, very considerate of you to offer up some kindness when someone could obviously "use a little".....very good photos, do you mind divulging the photo info???..just curious...

Thanks everyone much appreciated. Jimmy.....Clarence filled me in on the story about the guys threatening him, sad it's local people. :smt013
