Las Vegas Shooting

I agree that this whole thing seems odd but only a few people actually have seen whatever video that he created of himself. There is no explanation for what he did....how can there be?

In regards to guns....at least the pictures of two from the hotel room are new weapons. One of them was a Daniel Defense DDMK and the other appeared to be Sig with a "bump stock". The bump stock appears to be the "automatic weapon" that the media is seizing upon.

Since his dad was a convicted felon.....I don't think he owned any guns. Additionally the brother indicated that they had very limited contact with their dad.

Class 3 items can't be willed.

Unless they are in a trust and you are part of the same trust. Other wise the person willed has to undergo the same process. Wait time, and 200 tax stamp

I wonder if he either lost a significant amount of money in Vegas lately or owed a significant amount to someone in Vegas and this was his way of getting even with "Vegas"... Either way, a truly sad situation and senseless..

Mark, I doubt that was the case. A scenario like this guy created had to involve a lot of planning over several months. He had to scout out the hotel room, book it for the right days/nights, reserve it far enough ahead to make sure he got it when he wanted it, gather all the arms and ammunition, etc.

Question
Why did the cleaning staff not notice the large amount of guns and ammo?
Or
Why did hotel security not notice him brining it into his room?
If you bring an electric hot plate into your room you get busted almost instantly.

He brought the weapons and ammo up in suitcases. I used to live in Las Vegas and I have been to Mandalay Bay many times. There are several elevator banks that a guest can take up to the room floors in different parts of the hotel. There is actually a couple of other hotels within the main hotel....such as The Four Seasons, that occupies the top few floors. During the day there is rarely security at the elevator banks but in the evening there is often Security at the elevators checking room keys. There are a couple of floors that are designated "Concierge Floors" and you need to use your room key card in the elevator to access these floors. Suites, such as the one Douchebag had would have been one of the these. I doubt any one guard would have noticed if one guy made several trips to his room with a suitcase or two over the course of a few days. That's what people do in hotels....they take luggage up the elevators to their rooms. Plus he could have used different elevators to not attract attention. Maybe he change clothes or wore a hat. I will bet however, that they now have him spotted on recorded video making the trips with suitcases.

As far as maid service or room service, he could have simply placed the "Do Not Disturb" tag on the door and the maids will stay out of the room. A maid could care less if she cleans a room or not. Less for her to do. My wife and I did not want the maids in our room at a large hotel in Hawaii and they stayed out. We would request towels and wait for them to arrive, took the towels from them at the door, gave them a really nice gratuity and away they went. Same with room service. "Just leave the cart here at the door and I'll put it in the corridor when I'm finished"....(with some hidden cameras) Here's a $20, thanks. If my memory serves, that triple tower has about 4000 rooms. Seeing a Do Not Disturb sign on a door would not be unusual....especially in a suite of that size.

Bad people will find ways to do bad things. What was going through this assholes head, other that the .44 magnum round at the end, is anybody's guess. Autopsy will be interesting tho....

I don't know how people are confused about how he got guns on. He probably gave the hotel guy 100 and popped the trunk. They don't ask you what's in your bag.... and never will. Let alone he had days to do this.
