I don't trust the service department at my Marine Max and I'd rather take my boat to a good honest mechanic for my 07 210 Select. Anyone know of a good mechanic in the N Georgia area?

I am on Lanier and plan on taking my 240 DA to the Marine Max on Holiday Rd. What experience did you have with them? I am finding the more that I talk with people the more I feel I should perform the light maintenance myself.

I can't speak to MM's service quality but since I'm in dry stack at Port Royale, I've used Darryl and was satisfied with his work.

I bought the boat brand new in August. The first boat had a leaky gas tank and the knob came off of the glove compartment. (Service should have performed a QC before I picked up the boat) They gave me another boat. I go to pick it up and it had dead batteries. (Again...should have performed a QC before delivery) Walkway hatch keeps popping up during trailering which in turns makes the motor hatch pop open. They installed more latches...I say it's the gas shock. Every weekend the hatches pop open, they add more latches. Now I'm inquiring about an enclosure. I'm getting different responses from different Marine Max dealers. Some say no camper top for 210 SEL..others say can have camper top..some say need snaps..others say no snaps. The service department is just too lackadaisical for me and I've caught them in a few lies. I just don't trust them to take care of my baby.

Sorry to hear about your problems with MM. Have you talked with the manager yet? He needs to know and get it taken care of.

The manager knows. I've made sure of that! They've been real nice about it tho. It's just bad that it happened. Makes me a little gun shy on Sea Ray's.

You know, I've had a few issues as well. They scratched my boat's trim right before delivery, they didnt say anything about it. They did fix it after I said something. I took the boat in for repair of two cracks, they call and say its done. The wife picks the boat up (mistake!), I get home and the cracks are half way repaired, the boat has thick dust ALL over it, there are used pieces of sandpaper ALL over the place, the rubber piece that is over the ignition key slot was found back near the engine and a rubber piece from the window hatch is gone! Needless to say, I took it back.

Crazy.....anyway, now it's in service again for two more cracks in the same area and the same PerfectPass issue I had the first time!
