Lake Wylie Aquapolooza

I registered but I am not a big fan of raft ups and likely won't participate in that. I may do the poker run though.

I can promise you that we will not be in the raft up but will probably go to where they are an achor out. Would love to meet you Dave. I think my brother-in-law and his wife are coming with us.

Wesley

Wesley .......we should meet up. Also, I still have that mast for you too (if Jim can figure out what has happened to the Burgees.)

I'll send you an email with my phone numbers and plans as we get closer to the date.

Dave,

I know you are down at the marina more than I am have you heard any talking about what the plans are???

Wesley

Wes, you should have received a flyer from Lake Wylie Marina outlining the events. There is a poker run that ends up in Catawba Creek as the final stop of the run at 4pm. Starting at 1pm they'll be serving hot dogs and hamburgers at the raft up. The flyer says you must have it (invitation) to participate in the poker run. Sea Ray will give you two Tee shirts. Sign up begins at 10 am in the showroom. Call 831-2101 and talk to Larry Bunch, I think he's the contact. Mike

Signed up

We're all signed up ... we'll be floating early, then head up the lake for the sign in.

Agree with you all on the raft up, I came home with a busted mirror last year.

Good deal casey, I'll see you out there. Good to see more Lake Wylie people out there. I was beginning to think it was only myself, Dave, and Wes on this site.

Sat

We're looking forward to it ... a friend of ours with another Sea Ray may join us too.

Do y'all know whether we need to speak with Larry ahead of time or just show up / sign up? Can we participate in the poker run if we aren't on "the list"?

On the flyer Sea Ray sent to me it says you need it to participate. Call Larry and I'm sure he will have an answer. I can't imagine why you couldn't. Lake Wylie phone number 803-831-2101. Larry Bunch is the contact point.

Saturday

Larry is sending me a flyer ...

See you all out there tomorrow. If I don't recognize you please stop and introduce yourself.

On my way ...

Me too, leaving the driveway in 5 minutes. See ya there!

We had a great time at the lake today. We had Paige and I, my brother-in law and his wife. As we are pulling into Lake Wylie Marina get a yell from a beautiful 240 turns out it was Mike. Pull up to the dock, get out of the boat to go sign in. Came out and there is Dave S. Dave tells me to pull up by his slip (heart drops I have never docked in a finger slip before and the first time I have to do it, I am going to have Dave watching, but thanks to some help by him got her in there with no problems). Got to go on a quick ride on his super clean boat (dave you will get a kick out of this we get back in our boat after the ride and my brother-in-law looks over and says is it a rule that all Sea Ray owners keep their boat clean, they give me a hard time about my cleaning habits). But sir you do have a super clean boat!!! Head off to the cookout (final stop of the poker run which we did not take a part in) and achored out. They had cookout going on the island. Got to hang out with Casey for a little while. This is probably the first time we went to the lake and did not do any water sports. Just hung out for the day...Headed off (said goodbye to Dave looked at all the Sea Rays) and drove around the lake then went back to the loading ramp. Got the boat secure, looked over at Paige and said you know if this is what you guys want to do at the lake we need a cruiser. No comments were made by anyone.

Nice to see everyone at the Lake today. Casey has a very nice Classic Sea Ray. And I think there was still a bit of Salt Water residue on Mikes 240DA from his Bimini Trip. Wesley's boat was clean as a whistle too........his wife probably cleans the boat right Wesley? .

Our event was probably very small compared to some of the other Aquapalooza events but it was very nice and everyone was very friendly. We did the Poker Run and wound up with absolutely nothing in the way of a final hand..............so I will be missing out on the really good stuff our dealer was giving away for the Poker Run participants. :smt089 But hey I got my other Aquapalooza Freebies so I am not complaining.

Now we will have to wait to see who caught a case of ITIS today. There were some very nice Sport Boats and Cruisers out there. I was kind of drooling over the new 310DA our dealer brought out, But drooling is about all I can do. (BTW...my name is Dave and I am an ITIS addict................ but I am currently going to ITIS Anonymous meetings to try and beat the disease :smt043 )

Good Day

We had a great time ... it was nice to travel the lake with a destination.

Mike and Wes ... it was nice meeting and talking with you.

Dave, sorry we didn't get past a friendly hello wave ... we had to rush the baby back to the landing after a bee sting. All is well with her today.

You all have such beautiful new boats, I am jealous. :smt089

A big thank you to LW Marina for hosting the event and providing food and drinks.

Hello all, I enjoyed my aquapalooza. Thanks to Lake Wylie Sea Ray for the food and drinks. I ate to many burgers myself, but you'll not hear me complain seeing as some of the dealers went the "bring your own" route.
Casey we were not crazy on the poker run first stop. He was hidding from us, :smt017 actually he was late getting to his station. :smt021 It's been awhile since I'd run to the back of Crowders Creek so it was nice to see it. I blew right past the second stop and even waved to the guy. :smt101 I missed the flag. Then I pulled up next to a 30 something Sea Ray dancer anchored up next to the dam with fenders out and asked for the poker run card. He looked at me as if I were crazy. I told him to put down the fishing rod and hand me the card and I'd be on my way. He told me I "was" crazy... Then I realized he was not part of the poker run and playing a joke on me, so I appologized and smoked out of there with my tail between my legs. The rest of the run went pretty smooth. I ended up with a pretty lousy hand, a pair of 2's. I don't think I'll win anything.
I enjoyed meeting everyone and stayed till all was packed up and all headed home.
Sorry to hear about the baby bee sting, hope all is ok. So, I hope to see you guys on the lake in the future.
By the way Dave, if the meetings don't work out maybe we can work out a swap. That's one good looking 260 you have there. I was noticing the size difference between the 240 and the 260. fairly big. It's hard to admit size envy though. I guess I'm in rare form tonight. Take care Mike
