Let’s talk about a huge what if but probably not gonna happen....

What if your marina doesn’t open at all this year? No launching or other services..

We will have a bigger problem if businesses don’t reopen

I haven't been to the boat in a few weeks, but I would assume that we could get in ours next door because of the condos and restaurant (take out). I'm pretty sure it has to do with the Stay Home order by the governor. I'm in the crane rental business and I'm still going to work because we have a couple jobs still working because they are considered "essential". We also get emergency call of time to time. The last couple jobs were for the cellular companies. We have shut down probably over 95% of our cranes and basically the same for our work force. The quicker we get rid of this the quicker we go in the water.

I am surprised your shutting down construction... my condo in Novi has a Texas Roadhouse, chick filet and one of those steel car vending machines going up and they are working on them every day

This is Miller’s on PIB right now.... yesterday the middle dock was under water.... if we can get this virus under control...marinas open.... then all that’s left is lowering the water level...... this boating is getting hard

Holy crap, we're neighbors almost. I'm in South Lyon.
Friday Governor Whitmer held a press conference and said people need to stay home and there's alot not listening. She said they were going to start cracking down and businesses could see fines and possibly lose their business license.

I am at Novi rd and 12 mile....business is on Kensington in Brighton.... I go down to south Lyon a lot to sun heat treating.... almost right down town where the True value is

so how can they keep construction open?

I'm not sure. I think alot of people are just pushing their limits on the essential work thingy. We told all our office staff that if they didn't feel comfortable working then they don't have to come in. Their jobs will be here when this is over don't worry about that. I even told some to not come in or work part time to cut down on how many people we have in the office.

I live right off 10 mile just west of town. You probably pass my sub on the way to Sun. I'm between Rushton and Dixboro. You probably take Rushton to 10 mile going to Sun.

Novi, South Lyon. Same neck of the woods as me. I am in Farmington Hills now, but was in Milford / Wixom area for the last 14 yrs and grew up in Hartland and Commerce Twp.
Saw an update from our marina, nothing about opening or staying closed but posted pics showing some improvements being made. New owners, this will be their 3rd season and they are changing the place a lot. I hope they will be able to open and then we can deal with the water levels.

I think the difference is Mac Ray doesn't have a fence they can close, and some people do actually live there.

Bad day for this captain


Efforts are underway to try and free a stuck tanker on the Detroit River, northeast of Peche Island.

The U.S Coast Guard is reporting the tanker carrying 82,000 gallons of diesel fuel became stuck in mud Monday around 2am.

"A tug and barge ran aground, it is in mud, it didn't hit any rocks or anything so it is stuck," says U.S Coast Guard Public Information Officer Jeremiah Schiessel. "It is not impeding any shipping traffic right now."

Officer Schiessel says pollution responders and marine inspectors are on scene investigating but no sheen has been detected on the water.

"There has been no leaks detected," he says.

Meanwhile, Enwin Utilities is working with the city of Windsor and local Habour Master to monitor and assess reports from the U.S Coast Guard.

The utility is advising that the water produced and distributed to its customers is currently safe for consumption but ENWIN has enacted a heightened state of alert.

Might have to move a boat tomorrow (doesn't have to happen tomorrow) from Light house cove ON to Port Lambton ON.
what is everyone using for wind/wave planning. weather network has crazy high winds then look on predict wind and its showing only 5 mph.
I know that there was away to get accurate data of some of the buoy's in the shipping channel but forgot how to access the link.
