Lake Saint Clair Peeps

I'm thinking that a 10 day Holland America smaller ship will cut down on this.:D:D

For sure! After that RCL, we knew we could like a different kind of cruising. We chose Celebrity. I hear HA is similar. We've been fans ever since.

I went on one once....that was enough for me. I am not a stand in line for everything kind of person.

Neither am I! I'm also not a "sit in a row of lounge chairs and bake in the sun" kind of person. The solution to that is space the cruises out to every other year or so and use the savings to upgrade. Celebrity does a great job catering to suite guests. We skip the line at embarkation and walk-up to a dedicated desk. There's a restaurant dedicated to suite guests, so no lines for dinner. The butler will make dining reservations and bring whatever we want (including booze) to our private balcony. We get priority at ports and expedited disembarkation.

This appears to be rapidly gaining in popularity, as Celebrity's newest ship has 3x as many suites as the rest of the fleet. Our cruise is more than a year away, but all suites but 1 are already booked.

The more you go on the more you learn to get around that. Besides when it just you and the wife it's not as hectic. NO KIDS to deal it.
Nope ...you guys can have it. My wife goes all the time with her sisters and her friends. I get to be a bachelor for a week or two... kind of works for both of us :)

This winter is going by fast. I already have plans to be at Milliken St Harbor between June 22nd - June 25th. Then we are planning on running up into Huron for the 4th of July week. Aiming for both Port Austin and Caseville. Been to Port Austin, really liked it. Haven't been over to Caseville looking forward to seeing that harbor.

I tried getting into Milliken last summer all summer.. it was booked solid the entire time....so your smart to plan ahead

We typically get there once every season. Looking forward to it this upcoming season, the international fireworks will be that Monday so we booked the slip from Saturday thru Tuesday morning.

Blueone, don't know if you tried this or not, but last year I tried to book online at that great user friendly DNR website.:mad:Everything was booked except for on the end (side tie) of the second dock but it wouldn't let me book because my boat is a 40' (44'6" shhh) and it said max was 38'. So I called Milliken itself to ask if I could book it anyway as I knew there would be room for my boat. She told me that slip 7 or 6 (can't remember which) can only be reserved if you call there. It will always show Not-Available on the DNR website. Hopefully that will work for you to. It could have been my sexy voice though so don't get your hopes up.;)

Hello Brent, I think we are heading up into Huron the 4th and the following week. Sounds like we are going to be on my buddies 400DB. Planning on hitting Port Huron, Tawas, Port Austin and then across to Bayfield and Grand Bend. All this boat and cruise talk is making me miss summer more. Hell I think we're slowing winter down.:D

I have lied on the site as well about my boat size....it didn't work... The calling thing sounds good - Thanks

Joe, we'll have to stay in contact and see if we can meet up while up in Huron. I was at Tawas in 2017 and they just finished putting in the new docks. They were nice. Great town, but it took me a bit of time to go all the way up into the bay.
When I was up in Lexington for Margarita fest, a guy who keeps his V58 Viking told me that he had heard a rumor that Lexington was planned to get new docks summer of 2019. They are all to be floating too, which would be great, I am always on the fixed ones out towards the break wall and I am notorious for kicking the cleats and loosing a toe nail. Happens every time I am at Lexington.

Sounds good Brent. It's amazing how the adult drinks can make you forget the pain you experience while trying to kick a cleats ass. I bet if it wasn't for the drinks you would remember. :D:D:D

I’ll be there. Not sure what day though. That’s the week after St.Johns.. looking for a 20-23’ center console
Not sure what day we're going either. We'll have to keep each other posted here. I thought I was going to miss it until I saw Brent's post on another thread with the dates. We get back from the cruise on the 10th. Looks like we are going to be in warm places at the same time....:D
