Lake Saint Clair Peeps

Happy BDay to DocORock.

This weather is for the birds. I miss being on the boat!!!. I get myself into trouble looking at boat porn (I really am liking the 580DB) so I am entertaining myself by looking at a new dink for the boat. I saw a few small (10' 6") center console dinks that I am liking. One is Grand Marine (which is light weight, due to aluminum hull) and the other is AB. Oh how we pass the time during winter layup.

Great Lakes, I know, I saw a couple of 48 Dancers back there this summer. I just got to man up and go into the bay. I have been timid on going to deep into the bays. I spend a lot of time at Munchies, due to how close it is to our home port. Many friends are going to Bare Naked Bay, I have just wimped out and took the dinghy there and meet up with them. Next year, I plan on taking our 480 back there.
Brent, Bare Naked has plenty of depth for you to get in, no question. There’s big boys back there all the time. It’s our new favorite bay along with everyone else on the lake... The moot, Id be a little nervous but that’s just me.

That's been our favorite spot for a number of years. We used to see no more than 5 or 6 other boats at most up in there. It's crazy how it happens, but we've watched it grow into a ridiculously popular spot. We miss when it wasn't as well known.

Hello all,

Longtime LSC boater here!

I have been boating for many years now (I'm 32) and will be moving up from a 23-foot cuddy to a 320 DA. My wife and I will be taking possession on Monday! Looking forward to getting to know you all and struggling through our Michigan winter together!

Cheers!
Brian

Welcome bmay
The guys in the Great Lakes forum are ok I guess..

Where are you keeping her during the summer

Thank you, Greatlakes!

TBD as of right now. I was keeping the other boat at Beacon Cover for the past 4 seasons. Trying to get that sorted out over the next month or so!

This is going to be the longest winter waiting for the splash of your new boat!

Welcome Aboard bmay, Congrats on the new boat. I'm currently at Beacon Cove and have been since 2012. What Dock were you on?

Thank you Ez!

I've been there since 2012 (end of the season then) as well. We were on G dock. Did not spend too much time at the marina since we only had the cuddy but things will be much different next season. More then likely will be back at Beacon Cove next year.

Are you staying there for the 2019 season?

So far that's the plan. I'm on M Dock. We go there Friday night and say till Sunday every weekend. Only missed 2 last year. Stop over for a beer sometime M-5.

Will do! Thank you, I may need some docking pointers come spring time as well lol

You will probably be amazed how much easier the 320 will be to dock and maneuver with twin V-drives over your 23 cuddy. My 400 is the easiest boat I have owned to maneuver.

That's what I've been hearing, good to keep on hearing that lol.
