Lake Saint Clair Peeps

I too am interested in Club Island. I was a member (past Commodore) of Bouvier Bay Yacht Club but we have disband.
How full is the Island on a typical weekend? When I cruise by, the Island looks so nice and can only image the sunsets from there.
We purchased our current boat from a couple from Bouvier Bay they had been there for years.
I just talked to one on the PC's from Club Island yesterday and he said membership is abroud 125 boating members right now and the club is set up for 200, We have never had a problem finding a spot and we usually get the same spot every weekend.

Great thread idea!
I am Steve and the supreme emperor captain of one Sundancer named PUZZLED. Our home port is Bouvier Bridge Marina. We like it there nice clean quiet and my two boys love the pool. We like munchies bay, Fisher and Goose. Sometimes just cruising the cuts through the flats at cocktail speed. I only have Miller lite to offer sorry Dilly Dilly

LSC boys, have you noticed how high the water is! It's looks like late June/July levels. I hope it goes down to adjust for its natural uptick for summer. If not, we may be throwing anchor on the weeds in the bays

I went by the marina/boat last Sunday after the boat show. The water is probably close to the highest I've seen since having the boat at Beacon (2012). We don't have the floating docks there and a lot of people use ladders bolted to the docks. They are supposed to be removed in the fall but a lot of people didn't and I can't believe how many boards on the docks are ripped up from the rising ice. This water level is what makes Fisher our favorite bay. Heck we'll be able to tie off to the wall at Poormans. :D. Last year the only time we went to Poormans was for the fireworks. There were 5 or 6 of us that went there and stayed on the hook. Water was about shoulder deep 100 yards of the wall.

Hello Steve, nice to meet you. I can handle a Miller Lite every now and then. ;)

Same with us. Poormans used to be good time. Now you need a lifejacket

I read an article last week and it said Lake Superior may break it's all time record for water levels this year

That's for sure.... Late last summer I got a bad batch of swimmers itch at Poormans. I was not impressed. After that we rinsed off really well and towel dried and that helped.... but I was still leery and didn't go in the water much after that.
Better than the poopie moot!

You’ll love MacRays compared to Belle Maer. We were at BM for two years. Switched to MacRays cause we needed a bigger well. Night and day difference. Promise! Where is your well?

I'm located directly north of the gas dock in the well right on the canal. I selected that well so I could walk my dingy around the canal side and stick it in front of my boat when I don't use it. Couldn't do that in my 40' well at BM. I like BM a lot, but I've always thought MR's was the nicest marina on the lake. Always wanted to come over, but the well prices were too high for me. Now BM's well prices are higher. I'll look you up this year. Looking forward to my new boat and marina.

Midexp where and when did you get the 400? I think you're going to love it. It's just a great size for us. Lots of room up top and down below. Handles better than any boat I've owned. You got my favorite year also:D..... Good luck with her and I hope you have a great trouble free season. Hope to see you out there.

Got the boat from from Great Lakes Brokerage out of Erie PA. They moved the boat to Sandusky and because it was closer than Erie, I checked it out. Boat was dirty from sitting dry docked all year (had way too high a price, then kept coming down to reasonable price), but in relatively good shape. I love the boat. The only things I didn't like was the boats got the white dash and no autopilot. But I got the captain's chair with bolster, camper top and the Cherry interior. Plus unlike my 37, I can stand up at the helm. So I'm very happy. Didn't get a change to use it much last year as I didn't get until end of August. Got a list a mile long of things I need to do. Already pulled the original stereo out last week. Plan on sanding the bottom Saturday. Shrink wrap off in 4 weeks.

Sounds great, can't wait to see it this year. To be honest, the way I boat I rarely ever use my auto pilot. I used it last year when we took the boat to Cedar Point, but that was probably the only time. I am going to have Mobile Toys come out pretty soon and go over some ideas to replace all the orginal electronics, radar, chart plotter, stereo, speakers, and camera in the engine room. I want to add fuel monitors also. We'll see if it happens this year or if I have to sell one of the cars first to pay for it.....:D:eek::D

I hear ya about the original electronics. Mine are as well. I'd like to get a new chart plotter. As far as the fuel monitors, google Fox Marine. They have a nice set-up that plugs into your engine controller and reads the fuel from the injector pulses. It also has the capabilities to talk to your new electronics and provide a bunch of engine data. All for the cost of fuel monitors.

Ahh another sunny day here. Hoping we are getting closer to pulling the shrink off soon!id love to be in by the 22nd of april

I hear ya! I put in last year on the 28th and hoping for around the same this year. I just got back from the Keys last night and was hoping it would be warmer when I got back. Oh well I should be able to make it through the rest of the cold now anyway. Excited to get started prepping.

Interesting, I will bring this up to the guy doing my electronics, when he comes to the boat to give me a quote . Thanks
