Lake Mead at sunset. Spent last weekend at a cove called Swallows for our 11th anniversary. Lake is beautiful this time of year, water temp was 72° air temp 82°. Getting the cabin cruiser is the best boating decision we made yet.

Going to the boat tomorrow to work on the generators fuel line and a change in plans for the weekend is going to allow us to stay a few nights. Absolutely beautiful this time of year.

Lake Mead at sunset. Spent last weekend at a cove called Swallows for our 11th anniversary. Lake is beautiful this time of year, water temp was 72° air temp 82°. Getting the cabin cruiser is the best boating decision we made yet.

Boating on the big reservoir lakes in the west like Powell and Mead is an exceptional experience. And I believe cabin cruisers are perfect for it.

I do some of the RV thing, and have friends on great water like Florida, Great Lakes, etc. I like them all.

But out here, we can get away from everyone, I mean really away, and be in an absolutely beautiful environment in complete comfort. The silence, solitude, and beauty will give you religion.

We are extremely fortunate out west to have an abundance of public land to recreate on. In the cooler months we are out at the low desert and hotter months, the high desert mountains. We have 2 1/2 acres in the mountains that is like our private campground.


My wife is a stay at home mom and also homeschooling our children. On the weekends she wants out of the house so we are either in our rv or on the boat. its a bit of work but totally worth it. We haven't slept in our beds at home on a weekend for over three years now with very few exceptions.

My friends spent a week on Lake Powell this year and we are planning a trip there next year, just need to find a trailer for the boat.
