Hello all CSR members who are on Lake Lanier or would like to be...

There are a few people on our dock at Holiday that get together most weekends. This weekend we'll have seven or eight cruisers all around 30 to 36 feet taking a slow cruise up the lake from Holiday Marina to either the top end of the Chestatee or Chatahoochee Rivers (TBD) Saturday morning. Rafting in a cove for the night and returning Sunday.

If anyone would like to join us or stop by for awhile we would love to have you. It looks like a great fall weekend. The forecast is in low 60's and partly cloudy skies lows in the upper 30's overnite. We will monitor 16 and 68 Vhf. Reply back and I will be happy to let you know where the destination is, once we have figured it out.

It would be great for all of us to get together and meet some new boaters...

Remember to take lots of photos. Have a nice cruise.

Dan,

How is the north end of the lake. MM is having their Fall Low Country Boil & Poker Run this weekend (11/8/08). We used to put in at the north end (Laurel Park) and run it backwards and end up at Bald Ridge. We did not do it last year do to the water levels and other commitments. Do you have your route planned yet?

Cocktail Time. Are you planning on this w/e 11/8? Could be interested in joining, coming out of Port Royale. Who could I hail on 16 to see where you are? Thanks.

Thanks, we plan on taking a bunch of photos. I don't know what's up but the trees look much more colorful this year, even the local weather guy was commenting on it.

We plan on leaving Holiday ~10am and heading up the main channel, into the Chestatee and anchoring for raft up near the Athens Boat Club. If you have a local Lake Lanier Map, it will be in grid D-21. I don't have GPS coordinates for the destination yet, but would be happy to post them after I get to the boat tomorrow. Our boat's name is "Cocktail Time", feel free to hail us over the VHF or call me at 678-360-4358 (Dan).

I have a friend at Port Royale who might make it as well, if he is going to meet us, I would be happy to put you two together and maybe you could follow each other over.

Great pics Dan. It is killing us we winterized our boat this year and did not try to get in one more trip with the leaves! We would love to meet some new boating folks and it sure looks like you all had such a good time! Thank you for sharing!

Dan,
Yes great pictures, don't know how I missed them. The lake sure is down.
