Lake Jocasse trip this fall...

No problems with the longer ramp! The length and angle is not a problem with my diesel truck and the other two had four wheel drive. Wiht the water level down, it was easy to beach the boat to get on and off the boat. I was able to dingy in to load my boat.

our Mountaineer has the small 4.6L V8 and AWD and 3.73 differential gears (towing package)...i was pleased to discover it had plenty of pulling power up the steep ramp and it did not spin the tires at all when taking our boat out...our boat/trailer only weighs about 5,200 lbs when loaded (estimated) but considering that is about the same weight as the Mountaineer it would not have surprised me if we would have gotten some wheel slip up the steep ramp...at least the ramp does have good traction grooves cut into the cement...this trip was the first real test of the towing abilityof the Mountaineer with the steep ramp and the mountain roads...usually the trips to lakes we visit (such as Wateree) are reasonably flat with an occasional decent size hill and the ramps are not too steep and not too long....

sorry we just missed speaking with you when we hit the lake...you had just left your boat on your dinghy to get your trailer when we met up with the group....
