Lake Huron Salmon Tournament in Harbor Beach 6-1-2013

[Getaway]

Fished a 37 boat salmon tournament out of Harbor Beach this past Saturday that was put on by Pro King trolling spoons. We ended up weighing 6 lake trout and a coho salmon for a solid 2nd place finish! My crew was my 2 young boys and my dad. We had an absolute blast and made memories for a lifetime. I really can't explain the feeling of having my 2 boys doing a tournament with me for the 1st time ever. It was just priceless.

The boys reeled in every fish except for 1 that my dad reeled in. They weighed the fish and kept a tally for the tournament weigh-in. Here are some photos to help tell the story:

Winter here now, so water temps are changing. We are watching reports and weather, yellowfin tuna should be on the chomp soon. We are planning a run out, 20Nm straight out to the continental shelf, see if we can hook up.

Not really Glenn. 1-3's in the am, then 1 and less by 10 am. It was foggy first thing so the radar got a good workout. Actually a beautiful day.

Nice catch and great to see the kids involved. Things are just starting to heat up in Ludington. There's certainly more breakwall visible since the last time I was in Harbor Beach in the late '90s.
