I'm looking for advice on the best place to stay at Put-in Bay. First week in August. We have 3 boats. We've got young teens, so we don't want the real crazy area. We have a couple that needs a hotel room. Thanks for any help.

It's been a few years since we've been there but we liked The Boardwalk Marina or hang on a mooring ball. If you don't have a dingy there is (was) a shuttle service. The first time we went there we stayed at Ladd's. We didn't know that is where the ferrys land, and they run until about 1 or 2 am if I remember correctly. Not a whole lot of sleep that night!

If you will be there Sun-Thur you might try Crews Nest. Great place for kids and not crazy like some others. Very short distance from town.

If you haven't reserved the hotel room yet, you might be out of luck already. They use to sell out for the summer by Memorial Day.

"Bay Weeks" run through August 5. This is the annual Inter Lake Yachting Association's regatta. You can check out their website - http://www.i-lya.com/ - for their schedule.

As for a place to stay, what others have said is accurate. The city docks are pretty wild on the weekends. Hotel space may be hard to come by at this late date.

Good luck and enjoy the bay!

Miller Marina is also a nice Marina for Families. It's past the Boardwalk, Cruise Nest, and The PIB Yacht Club.

Thanks everyone. We got in at the Cruise Nest. Had to move up to Wed-Thurs to find accomodations. We found hotel rooms for the party that won't sleep aboard too.
