Lake Erie Clarity.

Is it just me hoping for the best for the Lake or does the Lake seem clearer this season. I haven't seen the green wave move in around me yet. I'm hoping this is because of what State of Ohio has done with the Maumee river basin farmer and the effort that they have undertaken.

We have been commenting on it all summer..... its not quite St Clair but it sure is a dramatic improvement over last year... I'll take it

We have all been talking about this too. We were at MBI over the 4th of July and I was in 8' of water and could see the bottom. Water around Sandusky is cleaner than I have ever seen it!

I think the lack of rain has meant less runoff, so less opportunities to stir everything up. After the last round of storms, there was a noticeable change in the clarity in the Sandusky Bay for a few days. Hopefully we can get a nice dry fall and continue the streak!

I always thought it was the heat the caused the blooms, but clearly that is not the case. It must be the lack of rain reducing fertilizer run-off. Sounds like the perfect summer. Warm weather, clean warm water. Now if the winds would just die down a bit for the last long weekend of summer!
