Just wanted to know if there were any fellow Lake Conroe boaters on CSR. I'm on the water most days in the summer and I'm always looking for more friends to raft up with.

Hey there -

we trailer to various places, Lake Conroe included. Was out there for an overnight sleep out on the lake last weekend, but had to run the cabin heater quite a bit for the wife- she's more of a fair-weather boater, whereas I'm always looking for the slightest excuse to go out!

We are waiting for the weather to warm up a little and the fish to start biting before we go back- We usually monitor VHF Ch 16, so feel free to hail us this summer if you have a radio.

Hey Guys,
Believe it or not, I have never scrolled down to see the regional section.... Always get hung up in the Classics section trying to learn how to fix "stuff".

We're on Conroe, and birth at Walden. Still working on the radio, but expect to be on Ch 16 as well by summer.

We're there almost every weekend, and most times 1 - 2 nights during the week. Hail us, or just flag us down!!! You canb generally find us at the dam or in a cove around Walden somewhere.

Name on the stern is "The Jack Landon". Temporary as left over from the previous owner.

Look forward to meeting you,
Tex

I live in Kingwood and am thinking about changing from Livingston to Conroe this summer. I drove up there today looking for dry storage with valet. I have 3 small kids and take them to the lake "solo" on weekdays. The wife works a typical 9-5 M-F. I like the sound of valet because its difficult launching the boat with three 3rd graders in tow.
We plan on exploring the lake on the 17th and 18th. (my only weekend off this month)

Who do you guys suggest for storage and maintenance around conroe? I saw an authorized Sea Ray service dept by Lakeview marina but I can't remember what it's called.

The place at Lakeview is TMR Marine. http://www.tmrmarine.com/ I know they broker boats for Marine Max but I am not sure if they are an authorized Sea Ray service center. The owner, Tom Roper is a good guy and very supportive of the Lake Conroe boating community.

There are a number of valet storage facilities on the lake. The Palms on FM 830 is very nice and they have all new dock facilities. I believe that the picture on Texun's profile is at the Palm's gas dock. Lochness has a new valet service on the north side on Calvary Road. There are others but these are two of the nicest.

I have a slip at Seven Coves. They have no storage but if you are looking for a wet slip they are relatively inexpensive and we have a very friendly crowd on Dock 4. I spend most of my weekends in a quiet cove on the north side in the national forest, although I do occasionally take my jet ski down to the dam.

I've beem MIA for a few weeks but good to see some replies. I store at the Palms off of 830. I live in Point Aquarius off of 1097. I look forward to meeting up with you guys when I get caught up on my chores and put the boat back in the water.

Do you use dry storage? Any problems with spiders at the palms?

I do use the dry strage. Spiders are not a problem, but if you do decide to store there get a stall with a concrete drive. I'm one of the few that still doesn't have concrete drive in front of my stall so I get the dust from the red clay drive. Relly annoying since they have raised my rent the past three years in a row! I've tried to move but they don't have another stall thats tall enough for me right now.

Wow,,, great to see other Lake conroe boaters posting.

Traveler was right about the pic being from The Palms gas dock. Not sure about spiders in the dry storage, but will take texxmark's word on it. I do know the wet slips have a misting system to keep them out.

We currently call Walden home, but wish I could afford the Palms:smt100... I have heard from friends that slip there that the rent has gone up each year for the past 3 years since they moved from Walden. It is nice though

As for another alternative you might want to check this weekend; http://www.lakesidelanding.com/. We checked there when we had our 24 footer and they were quite reasonable. Another option would be Inland Marina http://216.223.162.33/onesite/Publishsite/index.cfm?client_id=750914. And if that's not enough to keep you busy, Lakeview is another http://www.lakeview-marina.com/. The good thing about these 3 is that they're all within 5 minutes of each other.

Look forward to seeing you guys on the water this summer...

Stop buy and say hi if you see us out there. I can guarantee you we're the only 360 Express on the lake.

I tried Conroe out yesterday. I went to the palms to check it out and launch. However, I found out that they don't allow public launches. I found the storage a bit on the expensive side though. We then drove down to Inland and launched there. It was cloudy and a little chilly at first. Good thing is the weather kept the boat traffic low. My kids actually got out on Big Bertha for a tow around the lake. I was too chicken as my depth finder showed a water temp of 67. Later, we tied up for a burger at 5 Guys (I love that place.) We went back out and found a quite place for the kids to swim. I saw alot of beautiful boats and got some ideas for my trade-up in a few years. My wife said she could see it in my eyes that I'm already ready for something bigger.
In all, we spent about 5 hours before loading up and going back to Kingwood. The wife was a bit rusty at backing the trailer down the ramp. There was a group of guys who stopped laughing long enough to help her out. All in all, we had a great day. I plan on driving over this week to check out some of the other storage facilities. As far as price and location goes, I'm leaning towards lake side landing.

If anyone is looking for something to do on Saturday April 24th, Seven Coves is hosting their Marina Day event. There will be food, beverages, music and lots of activities. You can find more information here: http://www.sevencoves.net/marina.htm

On a separate note, I hung out for part of Saturday on C dock at the Palms. It is very nice until you get to the part about the price. For me a 14x30 slip on B dock would be $320/mo plus power. :smt089 Looks like I will be at Seven Coves for the near future.

Hello Lake Conroe. I live at the north end of the lake. Keep my 210 BR at Stow-A-Marina. They raised there rates to 200.00 a month, includes lift. Public boat ramp also. Every Sunday they have a bass tourniment. Our outings always end up swimming at the island, by the dam, or Friday nights at the County Line BBQ, listening to great music. Marine Max also at that marina. Lots of nice Sea Rays burthed there.
See Ya on the water. Jerrry

Well I'll see you out there. We live in Point Aquarius and usually end up at the dam or the island swimming as well. We're in a Black/White 270 Sundeck with a tower and black top. Were usually rafting up with a 22' red/white nautic star, and or a Blue/White 24' Yamaha jet boat. If you see us stop by and say hello!

Recently traded in an older day cruiser for a new 210 Select and am now storing it at E-Z Boat Storage off of 1097 (right before you cross the bridge coming from the east. Nice storage facility with valet in/out every day except Monday. I checked out the Palms, which is a sister facility of E-Z Boat (can move my boat there if I want and keep same lease) but Palms was a bit more expensive for a smaller stall. E-Z doesn't have the store or nice cove that the Palms does but so far it has worked out for us. You even get a discount card for buying gas at The Palms.
