We have an ‘04 340 with a Kohler generator that we just bought and I’ve noticed lately that it seems to “burp” every now and then - is this indicative of an issue? I just replaced the plastic coupler and the impeller looked brand new so I know it’s not one of those. Want to be proactive if something is about to break.

    Burping or chugging?

Depending on the muffler and how it's set up, the genset may "chug" the water while running.

Occasional burp? Check the exhaust manifold for any leaks.

I’d say chugging is more accurate -

Normal - I've had 3 of these on different boats and they all spit the water out, much different than the a/c for instance.
