For those who did it. I'm all done, pretty easy. I have a question about the gasket. The kit says 5E,6,7E ect..SO I guess it's universal. Take a look at the gasket vs the carb. Is this the correct gasket? Should it cover up all of the channel you see on both sides by the bolts? you can see a slight gap in there. Just not sure if the gasket hole should be smaller. I don't have the other to compare. Thanks

I just did a 7.3 Kohler carb for a friend and had to get a carb mounting gasket separate from the carb kit.

I believe if you look at the surface the carb flange mates to there are no matching channels and therefore that is the correct gasket.

No offense but that carburetor can be bought for less than $50. In my opinion your better off ordering a new carb and tossing the old one in the trash than rebuilding the old one.

If I remember my dock mate bought a new carb for his Kohler at the Kubota dealer. Many Kohlers use Kubota engines.

I have a kohler and kohler wanted over 200$. Since my kohler came with a Kawasaki I crossed it over and was able to get the carb for about 125$. The research did take some detective work.
I did try rebuilding with no success first though.
