Kohler 5E wiring question.

Is it normal on these generators to have the wiring resting against the unit? Couldn't this present a fire hazard?

While that area may get a little warm, if it gets hot enough to melt insulation then you have bigger problems. The wires you are seeing are likely fuse protected anyway. But to answer the question 'is it normal', this pic from Kohler's web site would suggest that it is...
