My Kohler Generator fires off and runs fine on my 2004 390 Sundancer. It will run for as long as I need it. But once I get underway and into the throttles, the generator stalls. I back down off the throttle, go below and restart. It fires off and runs. Take off again and in just a few minutes, it stalls again. Anyone experienced this? TIA

I dont have a generator, but I'll wager a guess....

Could it be low fuel level in the carburetor float bowl? When the bow rises, the carb "runs out of fuel"
Is it possible to have someone spray some carb cleaner into the intake while underway as it begins to stall?

or possibly a disruption in the cooling water supply. Is it shutting down because of an overheat condition?

My 2003 280 sundancer does the same thing. I have only owned it two years but it has always done this. It will shut off at about 10 mph. I have assumed it was the water intake but am interested to see what is said about this.

Check your oil level. Kohlers have a low oil sensor that will shut it down when oil moves away from the sensor... This can happen at an angle with the boat on plane and I've seen it happen when the oil is pumped up into the upper end of the motor when it's reading marginal on the stick.

Come to think of it, it’s been happening when its rough enough to roll us around a bit. Thanks for the input.

here is another thought, If the air vent for the fuel tank is partially blocked, tThen you might be creating a partial vacuum when all three engines are running, with the bigger engines winning the fight for fuel, I had a 4 wheeler that would stop running if you didn't open the air vent on the fuel tank.

could it be its not getting water and it overheats enough to shut it
