Just brought her back from Philly to Washington DC. She is in great shape but definitely is in need of new canvas. I was told you can order them stock but havent found a place yet on-line. Any ideas? Thanks!

You can check with http://www.boatswains-locker.com/stock_patterns.htm for stock patterns. 370DA is not listed on their web site, but a guy at my marina just got two new tops from them. Perhaps they carry the entire canvas package.

The problem with stock canvas (other than tops) is that snaps don't really line up well. Maybe they can ship w/o snaps, and you finish it yourself to fit your boat.

You may also want to find a high quality local canvas shop. Custom canvas job could allow you to use higher quality materials and customize the look and fit.

However, if you need new canvas NOW, it may nat be easy to get a good shop at this time of year. They typically schedule in the fall for spring work.

You may find going OEM will give you the best delivery, fit and price.

Sea Ray buys from Great Lakes.

Great Lakes Boat Top Co., Inc.
15 Quality Circle
Vonore, TN 37885
423-884-6761
fax:423-884-6410

You will need your model, year and hull number.

Let us know how it goes.

Searay OEM canvas supplier for Sport Yacht and Yachts is Boatswain's Locker. Great lakes supplies runabouts and cruisers up to 34'.

I disagree that replacement OEM canvas will provide better fit than custom job (let alone quality).

Thanks for the replies. I tried both and unfortunately Boatswains only does up to 34' and Great Lakes does 40 and above. I have a few e-mails out to some folks so we'll keep our fingers crossed. May just end up paying for a custom though.

I know that Boatswain's web site only shows stock patterns for 40' and above.

But, I also know that a fellow 370DA owner just received his brand new tops from them. The whole deal took less that two weeks suggesting they may have 370DA patterns in stock. Maybe worth a phone call.

Gioia Sails makes most of the bigger boat canvas, They are a company who is in the east coast but their plants in Florida are making most of the SR Canvas. Nice people to deal with also!

Here is the deal........
You are correct that Boatswain Locker only carries stock tops for 40 feet and above and Great Lakes makes tops 34 feet and below. That leaves those of us with the 370 and 380 Dancers to order locally. So I ordered a front ($950.00) and a rear ($1000.00) bimni from Boatswain Locker and have had nothing but problems trying to fit it with my windshield isen glass and othe stock pieces of canvas. I have a local canvas shop refitting everything this year and adding a camper canvas ($3800.00). My only word of advice is go to a local canvas shop and have a top custom made for your boat, you will save money in the long run and be happier with the fit.
