Hey all,

I have a 92 300DA that has the alcohol/electric stove top. While out for my weekly run through the boat, I decided to try the stove. I filled it with just a pint of alcohol and it primed up just fine. Filled the preheater and burned it just fine. Lit the burner and got the blue flame like advertised. Turned to toss a paper towel in the garbage box and when I turned around the alcohol had leaked and was running into the bottom pan and had lit. I got it shut down quick and got the flame blown out. Then let the pressure out of the tank. I have read that the seals will dry out and need to be replaced if the stove isn't used. The PO said they had never used the stove, which I don't believe for one minute. I have searched high and low and can't find the rebuild kit or parts anywhere. So I turn to the all knowing that knows where all these types of things seem to be hiding. Anybody know of where to find these parts?

Thank you Mitch. But I have the manuals and all paperwork. I need the parts. I emailed Kenyon and they told me it was time to upgrade to a new stove. Sure. An all electric is $350. Not so bad. Then $10,000 to $15,000 for a genset and install? I'm way good on that. And propane is too scary in a boat. Plus no storage for a tank.

I guess it's time to pull it and take it apart and look for each seal and part on their own.

You may want to consider one of their butane stoves as a replacement. They work quite well and were factory installed on many Sea Rays.

Yeah, I thought about that. Then read how they are more dangerous than the alcohol stoves. Last thing I would want is a flash fire 20 to 30 miles off the coast. With so many of these stoves still in use, I don't understand the lack of parts to maintain them. To be honest, I'm surprised there isn't a 12v/120v/240v stove out. It seems between boats, RV's and remote off grid folks, there is a huge market for such a devise.

On a side deal, how do you like the 4.3l motor verses the 5.3l or 5.7l? The port motor has less than 300 hours and they used the original starter on it when rebuilt. It has a bindex issue and went out during the sea trail. The PO didn't want to sit and warm things up properly and the port motor back fired and shut down when he started pouring the coal to it. So the gear only comes out part way and turns the crank about a 1/4 turn and falls off the flex plate. I've got it to turn a couple full turns of the crank shaft. So that was a plus. But I will need to find a skinny wrench turner as well as remove the manifolds and risers to get to it.
