The 1995 200BR I just purchased has one of the engine "seats" which flip open towards the rear. Well apparently at speeds > ~40mph it has a tendency to catch wind and flip open. I learned this the hard way last weekend by almost losing it 5mi from the lake. Yea, that would have been EXPENSIVE. I have considered installing snaps but that seems kinda ugly. Right now there is an old ski rope tied from one side to the other to hold it down. Any suggestions? Easier ways to hold it down? Or shall I just suck it up and buy a prettier rope to use :smt017

Thanks

Go to your local Sea Ray dealer and see what they have done to the newer Sea Rays to hold the seat down. (The 240 Sundeck comes to mind here). Or, maybe someone can post a picture of their "ball and socket" catch used on the newer boats. I would think you may be able to retrofit something like that on your seat.

you may want to remember to put seats away for transportation or put flat cover on the boat

This is not a seat but the rear flip up cushion. It being shut is in its "away" positon therefore it can not be removed and stored. As for flat cover do you mean just a standard boat cover with 8 straps under the boat, 2 off stern, and one on bow?

oopps you have one of those with straps - sorry
as of back cushion - it should have strap on each side attached to cushion and snap to back (aft) wall
